No Eddie House in 3 Point Contest
House three-jected
Eddie House’s attempt to get into the NBA’s 3-point shootout has been rejected.
The Celtic guard was left out of the six-man field announced today for the All-Star Saturday event.
Atlanta’s Mike Bibby, Miami’s Daequan Cook, Indiana’s Danny Granger, Toronto’s Jason Kapono, Orlando’s Rashard Lewis and San Antonio’s Roger Mason were selected by the league to compete.
House’s .410 percentage on treys is better than Bibby’s .409 and Granger’s .401, and his .387 career percentage is better than Bibby or Cook’s mark.

"Would I rather be feared or loved? Easy. Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me." Michael Scott
LAME!
Who wants to see Mike Bibby or DairyQueen Cook? Seriously? How can having Eddie’s swagger out there be a bad thing for the League?
the league hates the celtics
how else can you explain no ray allen in the all star game and no eddie in the three point contest. The rest of the league is dead jealous of what ainge and co accomplished last year
Don't forget
No Rondo in the Skills Challenge

Come On
I have no problem with Daequan Cook getting in. In fact, I’m glad he did. But Eddie needs to be in there.
Go Celtics! Go Hoyas!
hmm
boring..another Jason Kapono 3 pt championship..yay
seriously, if the league hates the celtics as much it seems, do we even have a chance at repeating?

Yes, because just like last year
our GREAT players will overcome crappy reffing, stupid fines, and dirty plays/players.

Sad Sad News
What’s next? Mo Williams picked ahead of Allen or Rondo?
Thank you NBA for dissing our players. It just adds fuel to the fire. We’ll take it out on on the teams that have to face us in the playoffs.
ok, so that's
Jameer Nelson in the skills challenge, Rashard Lewis in the 3point shootout, Dwight Howard in the dunk contest, and all three in the all star game…..just checking…..
Although, since they are the best team in the league, with the best record, and their big three won a title last year, they deserve to be well represented…..
Nelson's Hurt
With Nelson hurt Rondo should have his spot in the Skill’s Challenge. I doubt this will happen but I can still hope.
If Williams is chosen now over Ray, then i will definitely...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I’m really angry, Eddie deserved to go!
Eh
Ray could use the time off as much as anyone..let mo williams take it as far as im concerned, let ray relax, go on vacation and play some golf..it will do him well

I'm glad
Last thing we need is for him to lose and go into one of his "funk"s
God bless and good night!
Cook can shoot the lights out. No problem there
but Danny Granger? Just because you jack up every 3 you see, doesn’t necessarily make you a great shooter.
That’s okay, Eddie will just have to put on his 3pt display tomorrow night against the no-defense playing backcourt of DFish and Farmar.
Oops, we forgot you live on celticsblog and DFish and Farmar are great defenders, just amazing

Yeah, please wondabop, regal with tales of the great defensive feats of Jordan Farmar. Oh wait, Phil couldn’t even use in the Finals because he was such a liability. Well at least you still have the senior citizen Fisher to stay in front of Rondo… hold on now – I forgot, Kobe is the only one who can stay with Rondo, which means Pierce gets to take over with that matador Vlad Rad out there.
So many terrible defenders to choose from, its amazing LA wins as often as they do. What are you giving up, 114 per night in your last 4? To the likes of the Knicks, MN and the Bobcats. Oh yeah, what a defensive jaugernaut you guys have become…
David Stern
Stern hates the Celtics, he will probably pick Williams for the all star game.
if he does, he will be doing us a favor
we have played more games in the last 12 monthes than any other team. Why is it so important to you to see our guys running around in an exhibition game?
Three - jected nice.
It’s important to them. So it’s important to me.
'We circle all the games' - KG
ATTICA! ATTICA! ATTICA!!
If I were in Vegas I would bet a $1000 Ray Allen can take the Jesus Shuttlesworth train on home next week because Celtics get no respect…..screw-em all – we will focus on 18
Is it Soup Yet?
House
House would destroy in the contest, it wouldn’t even be fair to the others. In the NBA now we have to worry about people’s feelings, thanks to the Lakers bringing that soft attitude to the league and crying over every play. “The Celtics play too tough, boo woo, don’t run up the score you meanies.”
No Ray on the team; no Ray in the 3 contest; no House in the three contest; no Rondo in the skills contest.
i do no trust the league to not screw us this year
We can beat anybody, overcome any adversity, but we can't
…beat the refs, if they are determined to make us lose. It’s amazing to me that the refs continue to blatantly cheat in games — there’s no way a sighted person could legitimately make some of these calls and no-calls — even though THEY’RE ON TV. Someday, someday… I can only hope… that there will be an investigation of the whole rotten system, with handcuffs galore.
As for the ASG and peripheries… I couldn’t care less.
Out of Context
Perhaps this a question for Jeff or one of the others whom follow the Celtics and their front office moves religiously as if it were a part time job.
I have been checking the Euroleague.net site lately to keep tabs on our 2nd round pick from last year who Danny claims to be our first round for this year since we don’t have one. He scored in 18 min or play against Europe’s best 4 pts with 1 rebound the game before yesterday he scored 8pts with 11boards. I’m not an expert on the talent over there even though I am over seas but unless my NBA standards are too high this guy may never be ready.
So, why did Danny draft him? Just because he 7ft? Look at Patrick OBryant that worked!
Some context is needed
1. Stats are not a good way to assess players in European basketball. It’s a different game. The MVP of the EL last season didn’t lead his team, let alone the league, in a single statistical category.
2. Erden’s first game, versus CSKA, was indeed very good. I know 8/11 doesn’t look sexy, but, again, it’s a different game. For instance, getting 11 rebounds is not that usual. In the four games disputed yesterday, only 1 player got more than 7 rebounds. A double-double is a much rarer occurrence on European basketball.
3. He’s been improving a lot. He started the season (after an injury) coming off the bench as the 4th big and only because the starting center was, and still is, injured, otherwise he’d have been the 5th. Now he’s been starting and having some decent games, especially in the Turkish league.
4. Unfortunately he was terrible in yesterday’s game, laying an egg and returning to his former self.
5. Let’s see how he goes the rest of the season. I’ve said several times that I don’t think he’ll ever become a NBA level player, as he’s basically stopped improving 4 years ago and right now he isn’t even good enough to play for a top European club. To me, he seems destined to be a journeyman playing for middle-of-the-pack Euro teams. If he builds on the way he played the last month or so (he probably won’t), maybe he can become a marginal NBA prospect. More than that, it’s hard to imagine.
6. As for the reason Ainge drafted him, it was the 60th pick of the draft. I think there were a couple of marginally better guys with very slight chances of becoming NBA players, but they weren’t 7fters and that also matters. Anyway, it’d always have been a long-shot.
