Salmons and Mashed Potato Famine
Update: Sorry, I was too tired/frustrated to put up any post game thoughts last night. So I'll just explain the picture and title. In the picture I wanted to pay tribute to The Truth, the number 1 reason we had any shot at pulling that one out. The title is in reference to the Tony Allen quote "sal-mon and mashed po-ta-toes" and the potato famine of Ireland (St. Patrick's Day). There's also the I-thought-of-this-afterward-irony of M*A*S*Hed potatoes. Oh yeah, and Salmons lit us up last night. So there you go. With all that said, if you got it right away, I did my job. If you didn't, then having to explain it all erases whatever humor there was in it. Golf claps all around.
As for game analysis, here goes: None left standing. Another loss. The end.

nothing to be ashamed of
when you have ONE big man left on the team with a quarter left
why
Why did Doc insist on keeping Perk on the bench when we needed a defensive stop late in the game and they still had Miller on the floor? We played good D but then Miller got the board because there was no one big enough to contest with him. I guess i just didnt see the logic behind this decision
well put, hbhs,
That exact issue is, in fact, the subject of Wednesday’s Babble. It’s not the first time something like this has happened, and I don’t get it at all.
Long rant en route over the next few hours.

No complaints
We really should not be expecting this team to win many games with the current injury situation. that have 14 left, I believe, and I think they will be lucky to win 8 given the injuries and the schedule. This team should have gotten blown out tonight. They had TWO big guys and Pierce and Walker were playing power forward. They played their guts out and were dead at the end of the game. If they can get healthy for the playoffs they should be ok. If not, then they won’t be. It really is as simple as that. When you have NO big men, it is nearly impossible to play defense.
the Celtics are storing up hellfire for the DAY OF WRATH
…when the playoffs start. We will be steamrolling teams left and right.
Thats what Im hoping..
That this is just a scheme to make teams think we’re really down… and then once playoffs come by.. BAM!! We steam roll every team in our sight.. and by the time the other teams finally catch on, its too late… and BOOM! We win the finals and teams are left thinking, “how the heck did they do that?”
thats my man right there im lovin this comment

Perk should have been in there.Hope Leon is ok and come back Baby and KG.Still amazed as to why you take Perk out on d with Miller being so hot. Furthermore Del Negro should have added Noah to take real advantage. But he had enough. As Red once said “who is going to play center Earl” referring to AC Earl. Where is Artis Gilmore when you need him?
what's with Mikki Moore?
He consistently passes up his jump shot then plays matador defense before finally committing stupid foul. Come back soon Baby and Ticket.
i agree man im kinda concerned with moores lack of defensive awareness and hes not able to as Tommy said cut a offensive players angle to the basket

not enough focus on the defensive end tonight. We probably thought we would outscore them. we looked good in the 3rd but bill walker single handedly killed us. truly that was one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen by a rookie. anyhow we tried but you could see this coming after the milwaukee game. At least Pierce got going- finally
how was that one of the worst performances you've seen by a rookie?
yeah he committed his usual fouls but he also brought energy and played some solid minutes for a team in need and we almost won. hard to believe that’s worthy of such extreme critique, much less for a rookie. the whole team missed out on the defensive end. at least he brought the energy.
Seriously?
Hey Red2, Walker played very well, especially considering he was playing out of position. His +/- was one of the best of the night for the Cs and he brought great energy as usual, as well as points.
To me, the refs were really looking to pick on him because he’s a rookie; his tech for dunking after the whistle was crap and at least two of his fouls were phantom calls.
And if anyone didn’t watch the postgame press conference with Doc, he pretty much gave Bill Kennedy the business. Doc said the tech he got at the end of the game was the most unprofessional T he’d ever recieved, specifically saying that Kennedy goaded him into that last T, staring him down until Doc finally said “What,” to which Kennedy responded by giving him the T, and throwing him out. Doc was as mad as he’s ever been about a referee.
And if you remember, Doc’s first T was arguing the technical on Bill Walker…the kid was picked on by the refs and otherwise played a fine game…..

Mikki Moore had 10 rebounds tonight
Scored 6 or 8 points and did as well as he could playing out of position and having only been on this team for less than three weeks.
small ball
I too just did not understand why Brad Miller gets the opportunity to grab a rebound like that and essentially win the game for the Bulls. Perkins should have been in at least for defense. Perk was taken out even with Pierce shooting his second free throw. Now some may call this an argument about bball philosophies. Yet, that was just plane stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Doc did it his way and got burned. He’s a sucker if he defends himself because it was stupidity witha diploma attached. His players fought too hard for him to take the game away from them.
Two straight losses
I have came to a point where I don’t want to watch anymore C’s games until KG is back. I think he will lite the fire needed for C’s to rally back. It’s hard to look at them right now it’s like having a kid who disappoints you all the time. You know they can do something great and become the world champs we all know and love. It just injuries are killing us and excuses is not enough right now.
Perkins really had nothing left if you seen him walking down the court then you know he is tired. It’s just no bigs were left to put in the game and we had to go small ball. I hope Powe will come back soon along with KG and Big Baby. Then watch out because we gonna get our swagger back.
I agree
The games are very frustrating to watch because you know they’re capable of so much better. I mean, I’m sure I’d get destroyed by posters if I said this on an ESPN board or something, but I honestly believe we’re the best team in the league at full strength. Unfortunately, we’ve rarely been able to show that for almost a month. It’ll be very disappointing to see this team fall by the wayside because it would be an opportunity lost. Also, knowing our roster there won’t be that many opportunities left in the coming years. It’s sad to watch.
Dont really know what to say…hmmm
Good effort, I guess..

we should just let the rest of the season let go...
have the rookies play the games..and let us slip to slot 3.. there is no way any other team will catch up to spot 3.
i was almost ready to throw my remote when i saw rando injured and then ray allen holding his shooting arm…i was like thats it! doc shudnt take a risk by putting too much pressure on paul and ray.
screw standings just have mikkie and steph play rest of the season…if they play bad they will feel frustrated and try to get better..
We're playing at home tonight
that will give us a much needed boost.
hopefully Leon will play tonight and we find a way to stop D-Wade.

so AP reports ray will be a game-time decision b/c of his hyperextended elbow
He said he’ll see how he feels. No need.
Let’s start Giddens, Pruitt and Walker together!
If it turns out we're without Ray (in addition to the already-out KG),
why not pull a Pop and rest Paul, too? Tail end of a back-to-back, another back-to-back coming up on the road this weekend for four games in five days…seems like a good day to get the kids their run.
I know it won’t happen, but I can’t say it’d bother me too much if it did.

Perk looked pretty gassed...
But he should’ve been out there for defensive purposes after Paul’s 2nd free throw. Brad Miller grabbing the board over the top of 6’1 Rondo was a gimme and game/set/match Chicago.
I don't think they think they can win without homecourt
I don’t know how else to think. Your franchise is hurt all over with the exception of Paul. I mean teams are continue to gun for us but we’re better off healthy in the playoffs then hurt although we could sustain more injuries during the playoffs. I wonder if the management actually has lost faith that we can’t win it all without home court. Or is it that Giddens and Walker as bad enough that Giddens hasn’t played and Walker has only logged max 14 min? Personally as much as I would like to see it happen I don’t think 18 is on its way. I could be wrong but injuries and bloody turnovers I mean my god.
Hmmm…Homecourt isnt happening and is somehwhat irrelevant at this point…
try for the 2 seed, but dont bother trying to hard…learn to win a road series in the 2nd round before getting to cleveland…repeating isnt going to be easy

it took me a quarter
to come to terms as to the fact that i was rooting for the team in white… Bull’s in green threw me off. i hope we can salvage the season but it will be a tall order with all the player worn out or injured.
The C's Are In Every Game
Everything seems to be going against us now, but, despite that, we are in every game. The defense seems to be most affected by the injuries. It took two years to work that out, but putting different players into different positions just doesn’t work. If they can get everyone back and get in a few practices and games it will all come back.
