Celtics Pull Away
The Clips kept it close for a little while but the Celtics pulled away in the 2nd half.

Baby, baby ....
Big baby had another career night. After shooting 8-11 last game vs Grizzles, he cooled down to 1-11. Go figure this out. Lucky we were against the lowly Clippers.
-
With Powe probably out longer than first expected, Davis’ scoring becomes more and more important.
-
And Moore collected 5 fouls in 18 minutes.
he was 6-6 from the FT line though, right?

I dont know why you’d point out babys bad game, when he was providing alot of energy, hustle and passion…his shots just werent dropping tonight…he was fine
alot of people played poorly, I thought pierce was a trainwreck for example…alll that matters is the win, even as unimpressive as it was..
thought the knicks were really gonna win that game against orlando, only for them to literally gag it up, go figure…….ohhh wellll not too concerned about it

Knicks blew the game to spite the Celtics, and Garnett is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCKKKK!!!!!
You know, this is by far the sloppiest game the bench has played this year, and that is saying something. Eddie House was the only guy to step up tonight for that crew…
But about the win…
Many, many of this years wins have come from odd combinations of contributors, (such as career games by bench players) where two or more non-big-three guys have strong games whilst the BIGTHREE have average or lesser nights.
5 things I noticed
PP played hard tough defense that first qtr. Amazing to watch him work.
PP curiously passed up a couple of easy lay-ups and thus overpassed – a couple of weird plays. Seemed strange.
PP struggling at the line again.
Mikki Moore is basically useless so far. He has no nose for the ball like Po(we) and he is not strong enough to grab it. BBD great dive for the ball.
Rondo is a more energized player with KG on the floor – they really feed off each other and they finally pulled off their set alley oop play right before KG had to sit. He look “ginger” on that knee coming down from the alley oop.
Is it Soup Yet?
Yep, two odd plays on the fast break for Paul
don’t see that from him often.
Good observation, Po.

soft landing
The landing after the alley oop showed KG is not yet 100%. Physically or mentally? I don’t know.
This was the second or third game in a row that PP did not shoot well. I hope he was just easing up in preparation for the two big games coming up in Orlando and Atlanta. Afterall, he has been carrying the offense of the team and playing lots of mins lately.
Big Baby
It goes back to the Bill Simmons theory. Would you want to have Big Baby hoisting up shots with 5 minutes left in the game or one of the other guys on the floor. Big Baby is an excellent role player, but the thought of Big Baby and Tony Allen on the floor during crunch time makes me want to throw up. He has the tendency to get carried away after good games (see games against Toronto and today).
They're not in the same boat
Baby got good looks and took makeable shots for him – they just didn’t fall tonight. He gave us plenty all over the floor beyond the shooting, and I’m finding myself increasingly comfortable with him taking those jumpers – even on nights like tonight.
TA is a different story for me.

couldn't agree more, ah04
Perk’s 5-for-9 would impress me more if the four misses hadn’t all been bunnies right around the rim. Argh.

Great to see them again
After dealing with a disjointed/injured Celtics team. KG is the best at handling pick & rolls and knowing where to go. B/c of this, it somewhat highlights BBD’s inability at handling the same plays, but it was nice to see BBD’s hustle. If only he could finally finish around the hoop (not sure why the Clips were fouling him when he was taking awkward shots).
Thank god for Rondo pushing the ball and Ray shooting 80%. It really is enjoyable to watch Ray work off the ball, including fast breaks where he purposely spreads the floor to favor whoever is driving the ball.
The second unit was SO bad, that they really need to just go to Pierce during that stretch and not work the ball through Mikki, etc.
Can Marbury score when he drives to the hoop? He’s always looking for the pass, which isn’t a bad thing, but it might keep the defenders a bit more honest if he could score. I think by now everyone has figured out that he drives then automatically looks for Eddie House.
Actually, BBD can handle those same plays,
and usually does, but he just had a really bad offensive game last night. He played well aside from his offense and hustled his butt off for some great plays.
