Winning With What We've Got

Marbury...
hopefully he has his touch back and this game gives him the confidence he needs
I thought this was one of the best games Doc has coached all season. He controlled the tempo of the game; did not pull Walker, Marbury, nor Moore if they screwed up; left players in to give them time to get in the flow of the game; and didn’t leave Perk in the game with three fouls in the first half.
The team still looks out of sorts through stretches of games, but there was no doubting the effort.
good way to bounce back from the tough loss on Wednesday..
Big Baby has become a heck of a player of late. With the way he is playing right now it will probably be tough to get him back next season because some teams might be willing to give him a big contract and I’m not sure we will be able to pay him that good as well.
I almost had given up on Steph but with his perfomance last night there’s hope that he does have something left in the tank.
Oh and once again and the officiating was terrible last night. Just some heinous calls on both teams.

Being able to watch Ray Allen
should be a pay-per-view. It’s a privilege to watch him play. It really is.
Anyone on our bench is capable of stepping up and scoring 20 points a night. When Big Baby has started, he’s put up great numbers considering he’s a second year player and a role player. Wow. Very impressed with his play. I really hope this team pulls it together because we are an extremely talented group of guys. I have confidence that we’re going to surprise a lot of people during the playoffs.
if we need to play mikki 30 mins. a game, we’re done. rondo is a warrior. baby is a beast. ray is a cucumber( very cool). and walker is serviceable. steph. is getting better with limits. and doc is trying hard. the refs are weird.perk swings around-touches noone and scal is called for fouling nowitski when nowitski slams him in the head with an elbow. i saw horford set at least 3 moving picks without a call in the second half.
37 minutes
for both Ray and Pierce. Looks like no rest for the weary.

Random thoughts
I was at the game, and even though they were nosebleeds, they were midcourt to a surprisingly great view. To wit:
- I can’t see you criticizing Doc for playing Pierce so much when he also wisely benched KG. It really was smart coaching all around last night.
- I was stunned to see the Hawks so lifeless without Marvin Williams. Who knew? You could tell both teams missing energy from a lost key starter, but the difference to me was Big Baby. What he did last night was nothing short of phenomenal, one of my fave individual efforts all season. How gutsy, how Purple Heart, but how smart he played!
- This could go down as a turning point for Marbury, who more than anything else stayed within himself, let the game come to him, pick your cliche. He seemed more comfortable out there.
- Perkins continues to impress me. Period.
- If Bill Walker could take better advantage offensively of his time on the floor, he’ll be amazing. I felt last night maybe was a lost opportunity for me.
- Mikke Moore; what can I say? Pretty impressive considering he had NO business being out there for so long. But I had to grudgingly give him credit for his rebounding. Now please, make a couple extra jumpers, yo.
- Those weak-side layups by Rondo, sore ankle and all, were glorious.
- Such a great win for such a banged-up team.
Summed it Up
Big_Easy you pretty much summed it up the way i see also.I realized last night that this core group of players have developed a good chemistry of their own.It is taking a new life with BBD as a temp.for KG.Maybe,if Doc is worried about KG throughout the playoffs, start BBD,and let KG be the energy guy off the bench?
Mikki Moore. I don’t think his shots are the issues. He has more problem staying with his guy on defense.
Bill Walker still doesn’t impressive me. He doesn’t seem to have the basketball IQ like Big Baby or Leon. I really hope I am wrong. Of course he is playing out of position, but still tough for me to see him out there. He is like an enforcer in hockey, too raw to be a game changer at this point. At least he doesn’t try to do too much and turn it over like Tony Allen.
Big Baby. I love him when he plays within himself, absolutely pisses me off when he thinks he is KG and tries to do too much. He has no business to be dribbling and shooting. I thought Leon’s post moves are limited, but Big Baby is even worse. All he does is back you down, then tries to give you up fakes. See couple plays in the 4th quarter and you will see what I am talking about.
