Marbury Mismanaged?
The consensus amongst Marbury naysayers is that he is a me-firster on court. Well, watching him play vs the Pacers, I thought, dang, he hit the open man well enough. Then, I thought, gee, he played for Larry Brown, who can be, uhm, demanding on PGs. Then I came across this piece by Charles Modian over at RealGM,who makes a case that "Marbury is the most mismanaged, miscoached, and misunderstood Knick talent that I have ever seen." Have a look. TenD.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I read that earlier and thought it was pretty interesting. Also interesting is the link within the article that says “you don’t know stephon marbury” and goes into paint him as the Robin Hood of NBA players: http://sportsonmymind.com/2008/12/03/you-dont-know-stephon-marbury/
Both those articles are fascinating
And give me a totally new perspective on our new backup PG. I’m starting to think he might fit into the Celtics ethos better than a lot of people might have thought, especially these days with him saying all the rights things.
I always, always was skeptical of that whole winning after he left thing. PHX got Steve Nash after he left, and NJ got Jason Kidd. That’s kinda like saying (totally hypothetically) that Rondo’s a team killer because the Cs got better after we traded him for Chris Paul. Well, yeah. (Totally hypothetical. I know that would never happen.)
Just read both of those articles, and I have to say…wow. I really don’t know Marbury.

Thanks for answering my question
…in “the Marbury Effect” post, I asked the same questions, inviting people to jump off the negative bandwagon that many jump on with some players and look at the bigger picture.
It’s always encouraging to read someone who has enough foresight to see past the tip of their nose and enough hindsight to see beyond their own ass.
Made my day.
...there's some folks that, if they don't know, you can't tell 'em.
