Miami Nice

60 wins.

(box score)

  • 28 points for Pierce, including clutch free throws
  • 21 points for Ray, also including clutch free throws (as expected)
  • 22 points for Baby, including a clutch bucket
  • 10 rebounds, 12 assists, 7 points for Rondo

The moral of the story?  (Pun alert)  There was a lot of clutch play, but Rondo's still the engine that makes this car go.

Two years ago

How many folks here would have believed we would have had back to back 60 win seasons anytime soon?

Or for that matter, how many folks anywhere?

A W any day of the week, any way you can get it……….is worth its weight in gold.

Enjoy the ride folks. ’Cause we all know too well how long it can be between turns on the merry go round.

another very good team win.

Wow, I love this team. They find a way game in and game out!

60 and counting

big baby warbucks does it again tho the player of the game was pp. perk was good on d but he was killing us with his missing too many bunnies and then he makes the great pass to baby. too many minutes for perk lately and it shows, but we need him with the big mins. no one will be gladder to see kg come back than perk. marby looked very good again and i agree with donny m. over doc—let marb take the shots. dwayne wade is a joy to watch.

What this team has done...

… with so many injuries should be the story of the league this season, frankly. Everybody knew the Lakers would be better; everybody knew the Cavs would be better (especially with an improved Lebron on defense AND the refs behind him every step of the way). OK, Utah’s emergence is the story of the league. But still, the Celtics’ reaching 60 wins with all these walking wounded is pretty freakin’ amazing.

Utah's emergence?

they were good last year no?

Question for the Forum: If orlando loses at new jersey (4th game in 5 nights) on Sat. night

then the Celts will clinch the #2 seed.

If so, do the Celts play all-out (or something like it) against the Cavs?

Or do the Celts rest their starters (or give them limited minutes) for the last three games of the season and care less about the results of the last few games?

Obviously, it would be ideal to win with limited minutes, but that will be tough on Sunday.

Does it matter who wins on Sunday if the Celts know they’re #2?

Don't forget how hard it is for the Lakers to win

Kobe played into the Finals last year. A hard fought finals, then played in the Olympics this summer, and now through this year, and subsequently the playoffs. He’s not Lebron, or 24 years old. This guy has played ALOT of basketball over the last year, and he will wear down. Pau played in the Olympics too. The NBA title this year will be determined in the ECF between Cleveland and Boston. You can book that!

One more win! How about...

…clinching the 2nd seed tomorrow by beating the Cavs on their own homecourt (breaking their record), sending another message to them to keep in mind for the ECF?

60 wins again and building a great momentum for the playoffs!!

Happy to be Green!

Orlando losing last night...

…almost feels better than us winning!

The added inspiration for winning in Cleveland on Sunday night is to stop them matching the best home-court record set by Larry Bird’s Celtics in the 80’s (40 wins – 1 loss).

Plus, it would be good to stop Cleveland beating our record from last year (66 wins 16 losses).

Anyway, great work last night by Big Baby and the C’s!

Good Finish

Thought the C’s finished the game very well last nite. They didn’t do such a great job in the previous game. Doc’s post game interview was interesting to me. Moore didn’t have a good game and he was upset about. Doc just told him not to worry about it, it happens. That’s why guys like to play for and play hard for Doc.
