PrintThe official name contest announcement was made at 7:45 AM on the Big Jab 96.3 FM Thursday Morning. Jon Jennings announced that the Maine Red Claws was the winning name.

Red claws is what I voted for - like the nod to Red A. — but I really like the Seas… that’s clever.

Red Claws is okay.
I would have preferred the New England Green Lobster, however. Would have kind of wrapped up references to our three main teams in one.
Well...
I voted for Beacons but as a tribute to Red, I like this name.

It was my favorite of the names...
… but overall, I was underwhelmed with the choices. Celticsblog could have done better.
