Doc is right. The inability of HOF voters to remember and recognize DJ’s excellence – as a defender, a floor leader, a clutch shooter – is nothing short of outrageous. When Larry Bird calls you the best player he played with, that’s all the proof that’s necessary.

This is one reason why I refuse to take the Basketball Hall of Fame seriously.

I would vote for Bernard King and Artis Gilmore ahead of DJ.

The same idiots who don’t vote for champions like Dennis Johnson will overwhelmingly vote for stat hound losers like Iverson, McGrady, Anthony, and Carter.

No question, Finkel. Johnson made his teams winners and he was the premier defensive stopper at the two of his era.
