So Dwight wants the Ball...
To recap: the (self-styled) superman goes public re wanting more touches. Classy.
Memo to Msr. Howard: more touches might be forthcoming if you developed your foot-work, post moves and spins so as to be a reliable option in the paint, worked on a step-back jumper to keep defenders honest and passed effectively out of the post. Alas, the lad would appear to spends more time in the weight room than the hardwood. We all know you can dunk son. What else you got?
Memo to Orlando mngt. Clifirod Ray. Remember him? Think he might have helped. ooops. Thank you.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I think Dwight was right to call SVG out; he could have provided a solution to the oft called-out reliance on 3 pointers that the Magic have, if it hadn’t have been for SVG’s decision to stick to their ineffective guns. Only the timing was off–he should’ve waited until the end of the post-season at least.
Read Hollinger's article on ESPN...
Howard is terrible in the post. He has difficulty scoring against Perk except off of put-backs or blown defenses. When the Magic did go to Howard earlier in the game, it wasn’t working.
Howard also wanted to keep Tony Battie in the game over Rashard Lewis. I’m not sure that Superman is coaching material just yet.
All the negativity in this town sucks. It sucks, and it stinks, and it sucks. - Rick Pitino
Howard does have a limited arsenal of offensive moves, but SVG could have involved him in plays as a “finisher” making dunks/layups. He can’t create a shot for himself, but he excels at finishing.
"I was playing in the streets one time and my friend broke off a leg to a chair and threw it at another guy through his heart and he died." - Ron Artest, QB's finest
I don't think he did. Mostly he'd get the ball, be unable to back Perkins down then
toss it back out – or throw up a horrible shot. If he wants to keep at it, I say let him.
his shot-blocking, rebounding and secondary skills are excellent but in a non-Sterno marketing world, he would be just another million dollar body with a ten cent head. The problem is that he can’t do anything with the ball against a good post defender. The majority of his activity is because he is allowed to camp in the lane at both ends of the floor, go over the back of opposing players and travel on virtually every post move. Alas, he wilts in the sheer presence of Kendrick Perkins’ defensiveness intimidation.
Let him shoot. If he is averaging 12-13 shots a game, say he ups it tonight & take 18 shots. He will hurt his own team. He may make an extra shot or two, but he will be taking away from someone else’s shots/game average, Hedo, Lewis, guys who are more efficient on the offensive end.
Dwight’s got a big head, thinks he can do it all. He scores 90% of his points off put backs & defensive miscues underneath. I wish this kid was around when Shaq was in his prime…
