Not impressed with Doc's PTI statement at all about state of the team

" I Love our team, other than a need for a big man we are all set"

How do you figure that Doc? Again Pierce and Ray are 1 year older, and I hate to say it because I love Pierce and have been following his career since he got into the league, but hes starting to show his age a bit.  The guy needs someone to spell him, and we need someone GOOD to spell him. Preferably a Battier type player. Doc made the huge mistake of not giving Billy Walker any significant minutes last year because maybe he could have been the guy for this season and we could have saved money. I hate to say it as well because I am a huge Eddie house supporter, but to raise banner 18 we may need a bit of an upgrade on the defensive end as far as spelling Ray Allen.  Im cool with brining in guys like Grant Hill, but I also believe that we need to bring in some talented youth to help build this team for years to come.

Doc I agree we need a big man desperatley because Mikki Moore was a complete failure, but thats it? Cmon you know better than that. Im gonna stick with what Wyc said in that he is pulling out the checkbook this summer. The window is closing fellas, lets not make the same mistake we made last summer and get complacent with our team.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Whats he supposed say? We need a whole new bench and by the way we are talking to teams a,b and c about making these trades? It was a token interview with token answeres take it for what it’s worth.Did you expect him to panic?

In the past he has mentioned the need for a back up 3, but did not mention it this time and unless we already have an answer to that problem…which we dont….then im worried about them not adressing the problem..just like last year. And obviously he is not going to say “Im talking to this team and that” and hes not going to panic. Saying that the bench needs major improvments is not panicing! Its adressing a problem and thats exactly what he needs to do and make the fans feel confident about……Token interview???? thats bogus

Doc has mentioned the need for a small forward at least three times this off-season...

I think people are being hyper-critical of an interview that he gave to a national TV audience. I give more credence to his interviews with WEEI, the Herald, and the Eagle Tribune, when he specifically mentioned needing a 3.

Several times, Doc has said we need a big man, a small forward, and a point guard. I don’t think anything has changed in that regard.

This is true. On the other hand, since the bulk of the rotation boils down to 8 men, this pretty much boils down to “We need a bench”. :)

It's PTI

Nobody takes it seriously, much less the guys hosting it :P If it was something like Outside the Lines or some serious journalistic show then yeah he’d be honest. Regardless, he gains nothing by panicking in front of a national audience about the state of his team as it’s up to management anyway.
