R. Allen/Rondo for Shaq and A'mare

I know how beloved Rondo is here in Boston. But will he ever become the point guard that everyone thinks he is? He is very, very good some nights and very erratic other nights. But his stock has never been higher.

Ray Allen is a class act and a great player. However, minus the 55 point game vs. Chicago and the buzz beater of 1st round-game 2,  he didn't play that well in the playoffs.  Also Sugar Ray's stock is high.

Phoenix is looking to trade Shaq and Stoudamire, according to the Globe. Why not consider Ray Allen, Rondo and Perk for Stoudamire and Shaq. Stoudamire is a legit center (sorry I like Perk but he's not a real center.) Resign Marbury as your point guard, Pierce as SG, move A'mare to small forward, KG as PF and Shaq as center.

Use the mid-level exception and sign McDyess, Wallace or Gordon. Could be another championship team!

Just a thought.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

stoudemire a true center?

he is in no way a true center. he may be tall but he cant play d against true centers in this league, he doesnt have the desire to. and even in your starting 5 youd have in playing the three in which hed be covering perimeter guys like bron. theyd have t sign a defensive minded swingman to play alot of minutes backing up paul and play the 3 wen one of those big men are on the bench

Was this a satire on the NBA rumor season?

Or are you serious about this trade idea?

Salary cap impossibility aside… you call Amare a true center, then suggest moving him to small forward. Perk is as true as a center as their is. Marbury as the starting point guard?

Dude.

I hope you're joking

Seriously. Stephon Marbury as your starting Point Guard? that’s a downgrade. Stoudamire as a center of Perk? another downgrade. Amare is far from a true center.

That is as far from a championship team as I can imagine. You build teams the same way the Knicks build teams. Just for names, that’s all. You may have the most selling jerseys in the NBA, but you’ll also be the laughing stock.

I agree with the arguments above...

…and would also like to question why we would want to burden the team with Shaq’s massive salary, especially considering his current talent level.

I also have no idea how anyone could think of A’mare as a purer center than Perkins. A’mare is simply a scoring machine, and while that’s certainly an asset, it’s not needed on this team.

Shaq's current talent level

Are you serious? Despite his age Shaq is still the 3rd best Center in this league behind (Yao and Dwight). I would do this trade in a heartbeat. Rondo will be asking for a lot of money. With the Mid-Level Exception…if your complaining about the PG position we can sign Jason Kidd or Mike Bibby.

Also remember

Perkins game will never improve anddddd….. his shoulder is going to give him several problems in years to come!

Trade

How about Ray Allen, Rondo, Perk and Bill Walker for CP III, Chandler and Posey. It makes it through the trade machine. Who knows if NO would trade Paul but it seems to help both teams. The Celts would have Paul, House, Pierce, KG and Chandler for a starting five with Posey off the bench and the Hornets would have Rondo, Allen, Stojackovich, West and Perk. I like the C’s chances no matter who else they have around them with a big three of KG, Pierce and Chris Paul.
