DA Makes the Rumors Stop (I hope)
Danny spoke to the media today, selected quotes via the Celtics Twitter Feed:
"This opportunity is unique. We have an opportunity to win with this team we have. We don't want to jeopardize that for the future."
"I'm not sure why his is popping up, but we love Rajon. It doesn't seem like you have to have any source any more (to report rumors)."
"I've heard speculation we're dissatisfied with him; we're gonna trade him because he was late for a playoff game? That's not true."
"Most of the players in the first round I wouldn't trade for J.R. Giddens or Bill Walker..."
"The free agent mid-level talent pool is fairly deep, but based on our needs it may not be that deep."

Add another layer of smokescreen to the 20 already out there… good lookin’ out Danny!
Seriously though, I hope this is the truth. I don’t want to sacrifice a known quantity for the unknown. We KNOW this team can win another title.
Given their track records ...
with the Garnett injury, I take nothing management says seriously.
he may have...
I didn’t hear the interview and only posted the quotes I thought were interesting from the Celtics twitter feed, so admittedly this is a shoddy job of “reporting”. If anyone has other good important quotes, paste them here or email me and I’ll add them if they seem relevant.
When Perk was asked what he thought of Howard winning the gold medal this summer, he responded: "What’s his impression of me after I won a ring?"
what is so wrong with the rumors? what else will there be to talk about? i don’t get why all the celticsblog authors think that it’s the worst thing in the world. it’s fodder for discussion.
I think some of the rumors that are coming out are baseless and don’t feel that we should necessarily promote them.
Plus I would be bummed if we traded Rajon.

Rumors will never go away. Players can get over it.

“The free agent mid-level talent pool is fairly deep, but based on our needs it may not be that deep.”
That sounds like he’s talking about point guards and wings to me.
Surely, he must be happy with the big man options. There’s some talent there.
Yeah, I don't get it, either...
If it’s deep, how does it not meet our needs? We have needs at the backup 1,3, and 5, and possibly at the 4.
All the negativity in this town sucks. It sucks, and it stinks, and it sucks. - Rick Pitino
I think he means there are good players in total, but there are other shoppers as well for our specific needs. Supply is there, but demand might outstrip it in certain areas.

i find it interesting he didn't mention
ray allen along with rondo….this combined with the ML pool not being deep enough makes me think ray is being shopped
