@RicBucher I heard David Aldridge said Rasheed is only going to pick between the Magic and Spurs. Is this true, what have you heard?
@ClevelandOwnz Those are top two. Heard Dal and Hou also called. Cle is not in mix. KG is calling, but Sheed won't do Boston.

Why does Sheed not want to go to Boston?
by Mike-Dub on Jun 27, 2009 8:32 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
probably because we can only offer him a role as a bench player. Not surprising to me at all
by rondohondos on Jun 27, 2009 8:36 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
the spurs and magic dont exactly have a starting role to offer him
interesting, I guess some people still view coming to boston the same

I have feeling he's starting in either place.
Not in Boston. Big win for Boston.

Okay maybe he could start in san antonio, a duncan/sheed frontline could be interesting, but theres 0 chance he starts for the magic

Well I see him as PF with Rashard at the SF. Just me I guess

Yea I say resign BBD + Marbury , Sign Marquis Daniels with part of the MLE and the try to trade Scal and TA for a Diop type Center that a team want to dump for salary reasons…
PG: Rondo / Marbury
SG: Ray / Walker
SF: PP / Daniels
PF: KG / BBD
C: Perk / Diop
That looks like a pretty solid bench that can defend and score .

What did I miss about Marbury's Celtic career?
Resign him why? Based on one game?
Tony Allen played better at the point than Marbury did.

Yeah, no need to bring Steph back.

I completley agree
I don’t really even want Sheed here.
by Marqui on Jun 27, 2009 5:43 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I agree Jeff!
On one hand he is very talented, on the other he is very petulant, moody and apt to quit on his team. I’m sure we can spend the money elsewhere and be happy.

I like Diop
Always have. He helped Dallas off the bench get to their one final appearance. I would love the defense and shot blocking in the paint as a backup to perk. I’m afraid Ainge will feel he makes too much for too many years though. Oh well! Sigh…

Oh Thank God!
I don’t want him anywhere near us at this stage in him career.

Trade
We need to make a trade, using either scal TA or ray.

First good news in months!
He`s a lazy, 35 year old, cancerous head-case, who plays 23 feet from basket despite being 6`10".
Yeah, we`re gonna really miss him…along with that ugly white patch which sits atop his head!

Thanks you incapsulated my feelings perfectly.

what about turkoglu instead of rasheed ???
i dont know if its possible with our salary cap issues if baby davis wants a contract worth the same amount as turkoglu wouldnt it be smarter to sign turkoglu than davis if that can happen the celtics would be the pre season favorites to win it all !!!!!
by lohaus#54 on Jun 27, 2009 11:25 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
huh?
Turkoglu is supposedly demanding at least 10 million a year for 5 years or so…you really think big baby would even think he is worth that? that makes no sense in terms of the celtics salary cap or how much players are paid in the real world.

Didn’t the whole Rondo drama teach everyone not to believe in rumors. As if Bucher knows what’s on Rasheed’s mind or where he’ll go.
I’m not so sure where all the hate for Rasheed is coming from, but that guy is like Garnett in that he is Mr Intensity. He picks up Ts for his mouth and behavior, but it comes from being in the game, from caring about winning. Has anyone forgotten that Kendrick led the league in Ts for awhile?

2 polar opposites to me.
Care about winning? If he cared he wouldn’t a 3pt chucker who averages 6 boards a game. And he’s constantly putting himself and his opinions before the team. Sorry there is no comparison between the 2.

I dont think people realize what theyre asking for here. Sheed is not our type of player – ON the court.

Rasheed
All of you guys are getting picky. If you compare Rasheed to the other big men free-agents he is the best if not the second best behind Antonio McDyess.

Also
if he is motivated maybe he will be a better rebounder and player down low and not such a headcase.
by Mike-Dub on Jun 27, 2009 2:34 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
lol I wish I could pay for a ticket with a hug cuz i don’t got enough money to go to the games otherwise.
by Mike-Dub on Jun 27, 2009 6:17 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
How bout this when Randy Moss was on the Raiders a terrible team he did not do good at all and then went to the Patriots a very good team became motivated and back to probably the best wide reciever in the league… why can’t Rasheed Wallace come to the Celtics and become motivated from leaving a terrible team like the Pistons were last year and joining a great team like the Celtic’s and become a productive and good player once again… im not saying he will become one of the best players in the league like Randy did because that’s just not gonna happen but he still could come to our team and be a good roll player, give us more length, play good defense(motivated by KG), score us some baskets from downlow and from behind the arc and be productive player for us.

If this is true, than I'm not that saddened...
Sheed is, as has been mentioned many times, a mercurial player with no real reliability. He’d be a decent guy to have coming off the bench, but not worth getting too wound up over.
Having said that, let’s remember that KG didn’t want to “do Boston”, so I guess, to paraphrase the big guy, “impossible is nothing”…
