Baby Article
I liked a few things in the Baby article. One is that he working hard on his weight and his game. Second, and maybe more important at this point, he wants to start on a bad team, but doesn’t mind coming off the bench with the Celtics because of KG. In my opinion Baby seems to love the game. He also wants the money. If he loves the game his best bet is to return here. If he is unreasonable in money demands he could go to a bad team and not be happy. He can become a better player here than with any other team because of the coaching and veteran presence which Danny hopes to improve on. Hope he stays.

Liked two things in the Baby article. One is that he is seriously working on his weight and game. Two is that he wants to start on a bad team, but doesn’t mind coming off the bench for the C’s because of KG. Baby seems to love the game. He also wants the money. If he loves the game he will return here where he has the best chance to develop into the best player he can be. Hope he does.

Eagle Tribune Article
The author is right in stating too big a deal was made about Danny’s public comments about Rondo. The candid comments by Danny were nothing that weren’t said before by others. So is being late and moodiness a reason for trading the best pg we’ve had in 25 or so years and with the best to come. The article included this quote by Danny: “And we don’t like it when you’re late.” Well, that brings to mind a great Larry Bird story when he was coaching the Pacers. The Pacers were leaving for a road trip. They were going by bus to the airport and the bus was scheduled to leave at a specific time. That time came and Larry told the driver to take off while seeing one of his players running down the street after the bus. The bus didn’t stop and the player had to pay his own way to wherever the team was headed. As Danny said, Rondo needed to grow up a bit. That was basically all he was saying. We fans already knew that from other articles. I think Jackie MacMullan was pretty clear on that. How mature were we at Rondo’s young age which Doc continually points out. Rondo seems older than he is and when he acts his age it becomes a reason to trade him. Rondo will probably make it past this year.

NESN Article On Doc And Danny
Ridiculous. The relationship between Doc and Danny is pretty well known and it is a good one. They agree and disagree. But they communicate. What Danny says about Rondo has nothing to do with Doc managing him as coach. Danny will submit ideas to Doc, but Doc is definitely the Coach of this team. I think the only thing that comes between them is golf. I don’t think Doc likes to play golf with Danny. Doc has paid his share of fines this year as part of the President’s Stimulus Package. Doc can’t afford to play golf with Danny. July 1 can’t come soon enough so we can get into some hopefully real issues with free agents, including the Celtics who are involved.
