Why We Shouldn't Trade Ray Allen
I made my case for why we should at least consider trading Ray Allen. Here's a few reasons why ultimately we shouldn't. Enjoy.
Cheers to Drucci in the forums for this video mix.

Ray is not the problem, he’s part of the solution.

keep ray-he has some gas left in the tank. he works his butt off and is an ocd practicer. he is an honorable citizen and a pro’s pro and he still p-lays good d. just get a bench that can give ray some rest.

Ray for 3!!!!!!!!!!!!
As much as I love throwing out trade rumors, the path to the championship is to get the big three healthy and build around them

I love Ray!
But it would of course depend on the trade. We should keep him unless we can upgrade or get a comparable player who is much younger.

Awesome mix
Loved it.
My favorite Ray shot is still the game winner in Charlotte.

Ya know, some of those shots, you just can’t help but think to yourself, “Man, what were you thinking about leaving him open? Don’t you know that’s Ray freakin Allen?!?”

Drucci
well done my man.
And no we’re not trading Ray! How can you trade Mr. Clutch?

i would really be disappointed
if he left the celtics. as garnett would say, hes glad to have 2 big gunz on his side. when they were at europe playing together, one of the interviewers said to the big 3 who would take the last shot of the game. the truth and big ticket said allen. they really love playing with eachother. i dont care if his contract is up. he saved the celtics in this years playoffs. i swear if garnett wasnt injured the c’s wouldnt have gone 2 seven games series in a row. probably with the magic’s but not with the bulls. ray allen cant be traded DA has to get a bench not trade allen.

I agree. Don’t know why it’s even being considered today, but the big 3 still has a lot left in there tanks maybe for the next 2-3 years.. The problems is not with the starting line up, it’s with the support cast. If you trade allen or rondo, God forbid, and get what, a younger guys with “potential” talent? It only screws our already solid team chemistry, our chances for that 18th banner to come anytime soon let alone getting in the playoffs.. and the problem will still be there, lack of a consistent and productive bench!
PS. Caron Butler is sh!t :D

did u see how much better he used to be as a sonic. Trade him now for a player like Caron Butler.
Lets get some value for him while his contract is an asset

The time has come
It’s really interesting reading some of the posts and sometimes informative, I side with management if there is a trade in the works and here’s why: Has everyone forgotten what level of play the team competed at before getting Ray and Kevin? It was to the point where Paul wanted OUT! If Danny doesn’t start building now, when the BIG 3 are gone, then we’ll be right back where we were before. 2010 will be a huge year for free agents, so it’s time to get some cap space ready like the other teams are doing. I do admit, I’d love to have David Lee from NY wearing Celtic green, he would be a prefect back-up to Perk and can play the PF as well, plus he wouldn’t break the bank to get. I love what Ray has done, but truth be told it is a business and he’s going to cost a lot, hell, he already does, with that money they could get Lee and another player. Glen Davis is going to leave because: 1. He’s an idiot and 2. The C’s aren’t going to over-pay for him and I’m OK with that, get someone that actually wants to represent the proud tradition that is Boston Celtics basketball, again I mention David Lee, a better rebounder, scorer and defender. Just my thoughts!

Thanks for posting the mix, Jeff.
And thanks for all your comments, I’m glad that you appreciate the mix, and if it helps some people realize that Ray shouldn’t be traded, it’s all good. :)

Wow, I just noticed a lot of those highlights came against Utah.

Also
I want to add that so many people say that if they had to have someone to take a shot at the end of the game, they’d rather have Kobe than anyone else, but I say I’d rather have Ray Allen than anyone else.

We can't trade Ray
He could play at a strong level for another five years and probably for 6-8 mill
Think five years from now, say the team is built around Rondo and Perk and another young star (Billy?), Allen would be the perfect veteran player who could not only start and bring scoring, but be the glue for the locker room who leads by example.
I think Paul will be retired by then (he said two years ago he only had four or five years left), but KG could still be there.

Ray Should Not Be Traded!!!
Final year = New Contract. He’s Not getting a 20 Million Contract Deal again. Resign Him For 10 Million. HALF of What Seattle Signed Him For HALF of The Work The Celtics Require From Him.
The Celtics Still Have A Legit Team, No Need To Make Possible Substantial Changes. Minor Configurations are Indeed Needed Though.
Trade Talks As of Right Now Should Include: Brian Scalabrine, Tony Allen, J.R. Giddens, and Bill Walker.
We Don’t Need A Back-Up Point Guard Next Year; Gabe and House Should Do Just Fine.
If We Have To Make Any Drastic Changes, Trade Paul Pierce (20 Million) For Caron Butler (10 Million).

End?
Nice video. It would certainly shut up people about Trading Ray Allen some where else when hes the most consistent of the players on his team and has a great work ethic that is Adored by many. Oh yeah did I mention a shot that’s from the Heavens. ANYWAYS MY QUESTION IS, WHATS THE AWARD GIVEN TO RAY AT THE END OF THE VIDEO?
