The All-NBA Mediocre team
In the NBA, as we all know, there are the All NBA teams that credit the best offensive and defensive minded players the league has to offer. Yet, what about the mediocre players. No, im not talking about players that suck, but guys that just scream mediocrity. The kind of attribute, although hard to describe, you just know it when you see it. Anyways, here is my All-NBA Mediocre 1st team. Feel free to throw in the second team.
point guard- Speedy Claxton 5-11 171lbs career stats 9.3 pts 4.3 assists
Aside from the cool name, theres nothing to spectacular or over the top when it comes to Speedy. Got to love the career average of just under 10 pts and just under 5 assists. It says to me "Im not bad, but I aint all that great either"
Shotting guard- Ime Udoka 6-5 220lbs career stats 6.0 points, 4.1 boards and ...da da daaa 78 game starts!
Ive always thought of Ime Udoka as solid. The type of player that you dont have to worry about messin up all that much. Probably because he doesnt touch the ball...all that much. Aside from this. you got to love hoopshype.com player description of Ime "Good rebounding for his size...and can play all three perimeter positions". Dare I say....servicable?
Small forward and Captain- Shane Battier 6-8 220lbs career stats 10 points 5 boards and 1 steal...gotta love it
Alrite so many of you will probably disagree with me placing Battier here with the great defensive job he did on Princess Kobe, but you know what... this guy is never going to make an all star team and ill be damned before I let him go without any recognition. The man screams mediocrity atleast on the offensive end. I love it when you read about players in the draft and get descriptions such as not great at one thing, but good at a lot of different things. It was like me in Highschool classes. I salute you captain.
Power Forward -Mark Madsen 6-9 25Olbs career stats 2.2 points 2.3 boards....went to Stanford
Dont let the numbers fool you folks, this guy was incredibly mediocre. Known for Energy and bad dancing (dont know how i remember that but dont ask). Hes the type of guy you would love to round off your bench with, not afraid to get his hands dirth and knows how to use a little elbow greese. Also, he went to Stanford, aside from academics, this school pumps out mediocre basketball players.
Center-Andrew Bynum- 7-0 2009 Playoffs Statistics ppg 6.4 3.8 rebounds, A lot of hype, A lot of injuries. A lot of Spite in this descision.
Why do I put Andrew Bynum on this team you wonder? Well, mainly for spite, but my descision is grounded in the fact that he has become incredibly mediocre in this playoffs. And also, I just dont like the Lakers, or Bynum, or Kobe, or that ugly Hairdresser looking Sahsa Vujabitch. Bynum is guilty of not being great until proving me differently.
Anyways, there you have it. The All-NBA mediocre 1st team
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

agreed
I would be hesitant on Battier, but other than that great list. Bynum no doubt deserves to be there, he hasn’t proven anything and continues to do so.

I'd put Jamario Moon over Battier...
He excels at nothing besides jumping. Decent shooter, ball handler, defender. Would take him on my team but he’s not the final piece to any puzzle.
I think Battier is too good to be on the mediocre team.
