Ainge On Lester (and Summer League Roster)
Ainge introduced Lester to the press today (Lester will wear #26 in case you are wondering). Here's what Ainge had to say:
"Lester is probably known for being a scorer in college basketball," Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said. "But we see Lester as a much greater player than that. He's one of the best defensive players in college on the perimeter, he averages eight rebounds per game as a point guard. He's a tough kid."
The Celtics are also inviting Mike Sweetney to summer league.
Update: The Herald has the rest of the summer league roster. See after the jump:
The summer league team, which will play in Orlando next week, also includes rookie guard Lester Hudson, who was introduced to the media yesterday, guard Chris Lofton (University of Tennesee, Turkish league), Coby Karl (son of Nuggets coach George Karl, Boise State, Spain), Darius Washington (University of Memphis, Spurs, Czech Republic league), Bryce Taylor (Oregon, Italy), Kevin Rogers (undrafted out of Baylor) and Bryan Mullins (undrafted out of Southern Illinois).
Mullins, who came in early last week for a pre-draft workout, startled the coaching staff when he broke the Celtics record for the three-minute run - a staple for everyone during training camp.

Hey, can one of you guys add some kind of SHEED cam to this site? You know, like Burbo Cam, only instead of monitoring everything going down on bourbon street, we’d get to see everything rasheed wallace is doing until he signs.
Hell, I’d throw in a cool $100 to get this done.

I hope...
Lester lights it up in the summer league and has an excellent showing on both ends of the court. He sounds like a guy you’d want to root for.
Hudson
It sounds like Hudson might replace Pruitt….. If nothing else, he’d save ~ $300k (and a $300K lux tax payment) as the 3rd PG over Pruitt.

By giving Lester #26....
The Celts have chosen NOT to retire the number worn by Patrick O`Bryant.

There must not be an age limit for summer league?
Oh well maybe he’s in shape and making a comeback. No fault in trying him out.
"Do you know that nonbelievers create the most positive energy?" Davis said
Who knows. Maybe he has decided to try and be an NBA player
He could be in shape?
Not going to hold my breath though.
Mullins
wow Mullins broke the record for the “Celtic Run”. Thats amazing, good for him. I can’t wait to see this kid in summer league, if nothing else he seems to work his tail off. Probably not a place for him but that is still a pretty impressive feat.
WOW
maybe i’m just summertime bored, but for a roster of non-NBA players, that may be the most impressive summer league roster i’ve seen. Mullins, Karl and Lofton call all ball. One guy I’d like to see — Chris Johnson from LSU. He’s got upside.
LOL Robert Swift
Ainge finally got him in a Celtics uniform.
Is Sweetney
the only post player? I think if he is in legit shape he could sneak on the nba roster. That probably is a moot point because I’m guessing he’s pushing 300.
summer league
agree about chris johnson of lsu…..ther’s a place for him in the nba
same with mcneal of marquette
