Here's your backup to Rondo, he's ready
I'm hopeful the Celtics give Pruitt a good, hard look. He's ready to benefit the team in what will prove to be a typically hard road down the stretch. Fresh legs, understands the system, came through in summer. Next year shaping up to be very interesting. Go Celtics!
"Gabe Pruitt got his important offseason off to a productive start this week in Orlando, averaging 10.2 points and 4.8 assists for the Celtics' summer league team." (From "Summer League Wrap up")

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I hope he can workout.
He’s young, and has nice jumper. Maybe he can pick it up. I rather the Celtics find a wing over a point. Gabe maybe fine.
This guy?

Slim pickens
There’s really no one out there left so looks like Gabe is the backup unless Marbury comes back for cheap pay. And that will not happen.
Pruitt is not garbage hes’ a jewel in the rough. Pruitt problem is hes’ always been so naturally gifted that hes’ not had to be agressive to get to the next level. Doc keeps telling him to be more agressive, which is true, but we need a good guard coach to help bring that out of him. Clifford Ray is a very good big man coach. We need a guard coach on the level as Clifford Ray.
Last year Doc keep Sam Cassell around to help with the mentoring of the guards. There was a need then and there is a need now. That void has not been filled.
Along your lines of thinking
Has Sam Cassell officially retired from the league? What is stopping him from coming back to Boston to serve in the capacity you mentioned?
My choice would be Tyronne Lue for the veteran minimum.

oooohh...
so he played under 8 minutes a game in only 47 games last year bc he is so naturally gifted? ok, makes sense now.
Pruitt looks like he doesn’t belong on the same court as nba players, he looks like a nervous little kid. He may turn out to be a half-way decent back-up, but I don’t believe it yet. He’s gonna have to prove himself to me. And I DONT mean in summer league or D-league.
Bench time not helping
Up until this point, I don’t think Pruitt has proved that he deserves a spot on this team. Instead of riding the bench, I think Doc should either give him playing time more often or send him to the D League. Riding the pine isn’t going to help this kid get better, he needs to get his feet wet. And he needs to get his head straight off the court, no more DUI.
