Expect Boozer to be traded soon. Blazers still have money to spend.

i certainly dont think that portland will make baby their #1 option

ric bucher just reported that he thinks LA and odom is over…the two are parting ways. we will see…but if they go after baby…boston better make it a sign and trade throwing in t. allen and getting outlaw and someone back.

Portland will get Odom!

Portland has got a lot of flack from the media on not taking Odom. They will sign him. Portland still keeps Odom on the west coast. He gets paid, and he faces a west rival.

Odom isn’t going anywhere. See below.

In Portland, fans seem to be going both ways on this.

Some really want Odom, others don’t want to touch him with a 10 foot pole. The front office so far has been leaning to the latter. I suppose that could change, but the only people I have heard talking about Portland having interest in Odom are the talking heads on ESPN, etc., who get paid to come up with stuff like this. None of the local beat writers have heard anything on this front, and have limited themselves to speculation (say it’s something that Portland should or shouldn’t do, not something that they will or wont do).

Myself, I’m pretty mixed about it. He’s a capable player. But there are some things that he’s not as good at anymore. Playing the SF position looks to be one of them. He can, but not as well as he used to play it. He’s better suited to play the PF position, which Portland already has someone to fill for 36-38 minutes a game. And Odom hasn’t been particularly interested in being a back-up (something Millsap was apparently okay with). Odom doesn’t look to fit particularly well, but neither did Turkoglu or Millsap, so that probably means nothing.

Offering Odom 9 million a year for four to five years just doesn’t feel right. I don’t think Portland is that desperate. If they were, they would have offered Millsap more. I think that it’s more likely that Portland just holds pat and sees what comes available come training camp or the trade deadline. Paul Allen has been hemorrhaging money lately, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him take the savings this year, just to take the savings, especially if nothing clearly amazing turns up. Sure, it may mean missing out of a few things, but he may believe that Portland has all it needs right now already. Who knows? Not me, that’s for sure.

That author is needs to get his facts straight. We was offered either 3 years 30 million, not 27 and 4 years 36 million.

He also clearly hasn’t done his research on Portland. They don’t want Odom. Odom and Aldridge have BAD blood. And since they aren’t exactly a wealthy franchise, they are said to not be interested in giving Odom the years he wants, especially at his age, hence they went for Millsap.

Whaaa?

Portland is owned by Paul Allen (as in co-founder of Microsoft Paul Allen). He’s got to be the richest owner in the league!

Odom is 29! What’s wrong with giving him four years???

And who cares how Aldridge feels about him. Kobe and Shaq hated each other and they won 3 rings together.
