How will Shaq's show effect his game?

I hope the show hurts his focus. He either thinks it's ok to do this when going for a title. Maybe this won't hurt him at all. I believe Cleveland won't get to the ECF. This is not like the Celtics were we have a veteran,or a older team. It's all about winning now,and they have the best team going into the season. On paper. Shaq is a rent a player for a year move. I get that, but what about the future for them? IF they win the title. No dynasty for them. They don't have a future,or maybe they are assuming they get a Chris Bosh,or Dwayne Wade in 2010. I'm happy that there front office is not all there. When they have A beast like James. The year the Cavs went to the Finals the East was not good. It was weak most of the decade. The Pistons the only good consistant team. I think the Cavs are over hyped. Lebron has always been hyped. Deserving of it,but maybe he won't get a lot of championships.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Lol no one is excited to see Shaq trying to out throw Big Ben? Out swing tiger woods? Out swing A-rod? Out score Ronaldhino? Out drive danica patrick? Out run Usain Bolt? Out bike Armstrong? out serve federer? out swim phelps?

JKKK

haha if I’m a cav’s fan, I’m pissed lol. Lebron is probably shopping for houses in NY. Whoever thinks shaq is gonna to do better than anyone in their respective sports is dumb lol. The only one I will be looking forward to is to see Shaq in an MMA or boxing ring. This is not going to help his game. If anything, its likely shaq will injure himself trying to do something.

It will be fun to watch. First athlete ever to end his career on a T.V show.

New name for Shaq…The Big Sideshow! He does crack me up though (probably because he is doing this while not in green!) Could you imagine Garnett pulling this stuff?

its gonna be a sad day in the NBA when guys like Tim Duncan, Shaq, KG, KB24, and Nash are gone. It will truly be an end of a sports era, considering these are the guys I grew up watching for the past 14 years.

I’m not really looking forward to the Lebron era. I think Lebron is good, but his game isnt nearly as pretty to watch as Kobes. He just kinda drives to the basket, and because of his size and the fact that he is the golden boy of the nba, he always gets calls.

Carmelo – I just don’t like the guy. I’ve met him twice, and on both occassions he was an A$$ . Plus with the amont of talent he has, it sad to see him not even try. I say he’s not trying, because great players don’t get swept out of the playoffs.

Dwade – he just doesnt have that charisma that the post-jordan era stars do. His commercials are hilarious, but he still doesnt inspire me to watch.

CP3 – he is one of the few I actually like to watch operate. His game is great, and he doesnt seem overly cocky about his talent.

Dwight – he is by far my favorite of the next generation stars. Sure he doesnt have any offensive moves. But I just like the way he plays. He is like the manny ramirez of basketball. A big man child who you can tell just loves to play.

Other notable stars of the future: Roy, Dwill, Bosh, Durant, Stoudamire, Rose

It’s funny that none of these guys play for major market teams except Wade and Dwight. I wonder how long it will take for them to end up in LA, Bos, NY.

The Lebron era will not be fun.

For Lebron to have a good era. He needs a rival. A team and player that he faces every year in the playoffs. Jordan had a few teams. The Knicks in the east in the 90’s was a fun one to watch. I think Wade and DWIGHT will stay put in Florida. I think will see Durant leave to LA,or Boston maybe New York. Bosh I do see leaving Toronto. It all depends on how far they make it in the playoffs for him to stay.
I’m not a fan of Lebron. His act is old with me. The thing about Kobe is he is not fake.He is what he is. Lebron tries hard to stay clean, and hide him self. I don’t enjoy watching his game. As I did Jordan,or Respect Kobe’s game.
Carmelo will not win a title. He looked so scared and lost in game 6 against the Lakers this year. I don’t see that killer instinct.
History has showed us. That the league will be fine. Bird and Magic passed it off to Jordan. Jordan passed it off to Shaq and Kobe, and Duncan. I would like to see it passed to Dwayne WADE over Lebron.

Nicely said about the rivalries. The game hinges on rivalries. I dont see any rivalries brewing except maybe amongst the CP3, Dwill, and Roy, but unless they get away from their cash strapped franchises, they arent going to be playing eachother in the late rounds.

What made the 90’s a decent transition from the 80’s aside from jordan was that you have guys like Reggie Miller going at it with Alan Houston and the knicks, and then you had those same knicks with Ewing and Oakley wanting to kill Mourning and the heat. And then you had ALL those teams wanting take out the bulls! Life was pretty boring on teh westide with Hakeen, the admiral, and Karl malone.

Then it was an almost seemless transition for those guys to shaq, kobe, and td in the 00’s. If the NBA is gonna stay at a high level, the Stars now are gonna have to play past their prime because the next generation (Lebron era stars) arent doing it for me yet. I havent seen them put up very many heroic efforts or have big rivalries.

In order for the NBA to succeed, the NBA is going to need at least 3 of its 4 big market teams have to have great teams ie New York, Boston Miami Lakers Dallas.

speaking of which… WTH is taking the Knicks so long to get back to the playoffs, theyve been rebuilding since Houston left in 99. Its sad that in 10 years they couldnt draft/sign anyone.
