Very confused about the Detroit S&T for BBD
On Celticsblog.com, we have Marc Spears for Yahoo reporting that Boston proposed the deal. In the Globe today, they've reversed it saying that Yahoo reported Detroit initiated the proposal. If that's the case, Danny turned down Maxiell and a number one pick for Baby, Pruitt, and Giddens? I can't believe that. Can anyone straighten this out? I would have jumped at that offer. I think Maxiell can be dynamic player and it wouldn't hurt having number one pick.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Maxiell is overpaid
I think it’s a stretch to say Baby’s worth 5 million a year…so why would you trade for Maxiell, a guy two inches shorter than Baby and signed for 4 more seasons at 5 million a pop? If you’re going to overpay somebody, let’s overpay Baby…
As for the differences in the reported deals, that’s the way it goes—they’re called rumors for a reason. I’ve even seen it reported that the deal was Giddens/Pruitt/Baby AND a first rounder for Maxiell, so we may never know what the deal really was or is….

Interesting
I didn’t notice that.
Since Spears at Yahoo was the original source and they are the only one’s mentioned, I would trust him and assume that the Globe was misunderstanding.

i read on pro sports daily that Boston proposed this and Detroit “quickly” turned it down. I would have gone for this. Maxiell is a little overpayed but he’s shown some brilliant stretches. Good guy to have on a contender.
Maxiell is a tough, tough dude. He always seems to play well against us. I think Baby is comperable to him but I agree with green…he is at this point a better defender…more of a bruiser. I really like him as a player but that’s too much money for Maxielle when Baby is still on the rise. Compare Baby mid season to Baby in the playoffs. So much growth in a short period of time! His mid range jumper alone improved from game to game…SIGN him. At the very least he gives 100% all the time but he is the type who will always improve due to his work ethic and his buying in to what the vets around him are selling.
