NBA Talk: Rumors Spreading of T.J. Ford to the Boston Celtics

Yes it's true. Indiana Pacers' point guard, T.J. Ford, has been rumored that he might be going to the Boston Celtics according to NBA Dimensions, Twitter, Celtics17, and many other sources.

It's truly surprising, yes I know. No, I am not here to break down Ford coming to Boston because it hasn't been that big of a deal yet. It is very interesting if Ford does come to Boston.

It does make the Pacers look for a different point guard. They could go for Andre Miller, in which ESPN said that a perfect fit for Miller would be in Indy. They could also go for Allen Iverson as well, as Gabe made a solid point of how he'd fit in one of my old A.I. articles of him coming to the Memphis Grizzlies.

It's going to be interesting, but I really don't think Ford will fall to Indy. But if he does, Pacer fans don't need to worry too much. And besides, we could switch Brandon Rush up at the point guard position and leave Mike Dunleavy or Dahntay Jones starting at shooting guard.

We'll see how things turn out.

Stay tuned for more.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I think/hope if TJ Ford is coming here...

it will be his head on Stephon Marbury’s body not Rondo’s… But if we can’t get TJ to be our backup PG I would still love to ge Steph and with either along with Re-signing Steph and getting Ford with Daniels for just our expirings we will have the best bench in the league.

Snake oil and hogwash… Apparently “news” and “stories” are just using sources from random websites and “wouldn’t be nice if” blogs. None of this is news. I find it all very strange. Someone twitters that they think something is possible, and now suddenly that is news. People like Tanguay and Spears need to wait until something is a real story before they start “twitting” about it.

You know....

The twitter post is four hours old or so as of this post, apparently. We’ve been saying that we need a backup PG and POSSIBLY a 4th big. Could it be possible we found it in Ford? You know that S&T with Daniels that people said would probably happen? With this rumor, this could be a sign it’s almost done, and we get Ford and Daniels and give away god knows who.

If we don’t hear anything more in two days or so, fine, say what you want about anyone. But jumping the gun now is kinda just being hasty.

don't get my hopes up.

i would absolutely LOVE Ford to come to Boston. I’ve been a big fan of him ever since his UT days. With Daniels and Ford I’d say we’d have a great, great chance at a title.

don't see it

TJ Ford makes 8.5M. That’s a bit too rich for a backup PG. And I don’t see what Indy stands to gain besides a salary dump.

Marbury would make us even more tougher

The Celtics have a few point guards they are looking at to fill the backup point guard duties.

I like Starbury due to his talent of course but also because of his tough demeanor.

Can you imagine him out their with Perk, Garnet &, Rasheed .

Wow if I was the opposing team I would be scared to just go on the court yet alone face these basketball beasts.

That toughness Marbury would give us would complment the other players on our team and would sure come in handy during the tough playoff season.

I also like the bad boy image the Celtics are developing which will give them a mental advantage and intimidation factor heading into the season

Anyone have any views on this?

oh yeah..

people are REAL intimidated of Stephon Marbury..

yeesh. This guy just sat out a year, and he got cut by the knicks. We’ve already seen him play in the playoffs for us, and he played cowardly. I don’t mind having him as a backup for now tho, mainly bc there aren’t better options out there.

I agree with the “bad boys” notion tho. The Celtics are tough, it’s like they are built specifically for the playoffs. I’m very excited for next year.
