brilliant job danny ainge

He's done a great job of building this team. We are very versatile and will match up well in the playoffs with most other teams line-ups in the league. As i see it, only Cleveland, Orlando, LA, and San Antonio have a chance of beating Boston in the playoffs. for example:

Lets say we play Cleveland in the playoffs. Here are some line-ups they can go with:

Mo Williams or Daniel Gibson

Delonte West or Anthony Parker or Jamario Moon

LeBron James

Anderson Varejao?

Shaquille O'neal or Zydrunas Ilgauskas

We match-up pretty well with this. Rondo can contain Williams or Gibson. We will have plenty of shot-blockers to slow down lebron in the paint. Shaq simply could not guard Rasheed at the high post.

Now Orlando:

Jameer Nelson

Vince Carter or Mikael Pietrus

Rashard Lewis

Dwight Howard or Brandon Bass

Marcin Gortat or Dwight Howard

I believe Vince Carter and Ray Allen would even eachother out in a series. The celtics could go big with KG on Rashard, Perkins on Howard, and Rasheed on Gortat. I felt like Perkins did a damn good job against Dwight last year in the playoffs. The only match-up i'd be concerned with is Pierce/Lewis. It doesn't seem like Paul does as well against long athletic players.

LA:

Derek Fisher or Jordan Farmar

Kobe

Ron Artest or Luke Walton

Pau Gasol or Lamar Odom?

Andrew Bynum

I think Rondo could have a hayday in this series. Fisher is a pretty terrible defender, and he's only getting older. If Rondo can consistently hit his little floater that he loves, LA wouldn't have an answer for him. The Lakers have been notoriously bad against the pick-and-roll the past few years. Rasheed could bring Bynum away from the basket and creat more space. Marquis Daniels would be a pretty decent defender on Kobe, or he's better fit to guard him than anyone on our roster currently.

San Antonio:

Tony Parker or George Hill

Manu Ginobili or Roger Mason

Richard Jefferson

Tim Duncan

Antonio McDyess

Duncan vs. KG would be a great match-up. To be honest I think San Antonio could just as easily be in the finals as LA. The starting line-up is very close to even, but the celtics have the edge on depth. And Manu's injuries have been staggering, he may not even be healthy come playoff time.

So, like I said before, I think we match-up very well with the other contenders, and we have an answer for our opponents no matter what they come at us with. The celtics, from their demeanor to skillsets, are simply a playoff team. They're tough, gritty, good defenders, veteran experience and great basketball IQ.
