I know this is jumping the gun a bit, with the press conference coming tomorrow morning and all, but Ridiculous Upside has learned that former NBA player Dee Brown will be the first coach of the Springfield Armor.

Dee Brown

Good for Dee. I have met him on numerous occasions and he was always very nice to Celtics fans.

Springfield has a team?

Congrats to Dee Brown. Not sure how I missed the news of Springfield having a D-League team. When I heard about Maine, I was like, “Great, New England finally has a D-League Team”, then when the Celtics created the affiliation, I was like “that’s Logical”, but to find out that there is a D-League team in the backyard…

springfield, MA?

I’m happy for Dee Brown, but I’m confused. Is this a D-league team in Springfield, MA? Since when?

New team like Portland

I believe they are affiliated with the Knicks, Sixers and Nets. Although I’m not sure, it could be a team in the southeast division instead of the Nets…

Dee Brown has been hustling for jobs since he retired.

He was on that ESPN “To Chef”-style broadcaster game show, writes a column on HoopsHype, coaching NBDL.

He should have put this much effort into learning to play the point. He might have been a good player.
