Bowen A Free Agent
To the surprise of nobody, Bruce Bowen is a free agent. Via the Bucks' twitter:
BREAKING: The Milwaukee Bucks have requested waivers on guard/forward Bruce Bowen, General Manager John Hammond announced today.
Will he sign with the Celtics? Time will tell.

8-12 Minutes
a game and can still spread the floor.
Do it, Danny
This is probably close to automatic
Sure, the guy is old, but we’re not asking him for a whole lot
I’d still love to see him harrassing some of the better wings on opposing teams

He was considered a great defensive player with the Spurs.
If he joins the Celtics he will be considered a foul machine instead of a good defensive player.
What I mean is..
he won’t get the calls as a Boston Celtic that he did as a Spur. Ref bias.
Are you kidding me the Celtics get all the calls...
for instance the Bulls and Magic series

I hope so with all my heart
This whole business might take another seven days minimum until he clears waivers. I mean Danny could or probably is hoping to land Bruce, and probably so are other teams, So, there will be a competition and the team with more money has a better chance. That is probably why Ainge would like to sign Daniels in a sign and trade so he could have the LLE left for Bowen instead of offering him the veteran’s minimum of 1.3 million.
yes yes yes yes yes
give him the LLE now. He’s the absolute perfect Pierce Back-up, with or without Daniels. Danny Ainge would be stupid not to offer him anything. I wouldn’t doubt if he went somewhere else. I remember Bowen used to play in Boston. Does anyone know if he enjoyed his time here?

And if we offer him the LLE,
what do we offer to our reserve point guard? We need one. Badly.
Oh, haven't you heard?
We’re all set at backup point guard. Lester Hudson and Marbury are “waiting in the wings.” Not only that, but Daniels can play point too. Or was it Glen Davis?
Either way, there’s nothing to worry about.
This is why we need you around more frequently, nk.
I always enjoy these tidbits.

I’d give him the vet min, but not the LLE.
(Sorry for prior post.)

The Spurs loved Bowen and they keep their players far longer than most since they value continuity. They traded Bowen to Milwaukee where he was waived by the talent-starved Bucks. I would watch what Popovich does. Unless the Spurs make a play to get him back, I’d suggest that Bowen’s effectiveness on the court has become more limited than some CBloggers want to believe.

Exactly
If he has anything left, the Spurs will want him. And, he wouldn’t choose Boston (whole new situation) over SA at this point in his career.
I Voted No Because...
If he has anything left he’ll be back with the Spurs. If he signs anywhere else he’s probably done.
But I suppose he could come in and mug LeBron for a few minutes while Pierce is resting.
GET HIM!
Even if we get Daniels or not we should gèt him!
Rondo/Marbury/ Backup pg?
Allen/House
Pierce/Daniels/Bowen
Garnett/? Need a backup big
Perkins/Wallace

Bruce Bowen = dirty player
I wonder how Ray Allen feels about potentially playing with this cheap loser
for the vet minimum, sure
Tons of championship experience, good spot-up three-point shooter, solid defense even in his old age … why not? Dirty? Yeah, but he’d fit right in with the C’s defense.

let him go somewhere
i mean, come on. If non-Celtic fans says our team plays dirty, I wouldn’t add this guy to make our team more dirty. This guy is the dirtiest of all, IMO.
no way
Are you guys serious? Get away of that ugly dirty player – he only destroys the game of the celts with his dirty play – we do not need a guy lake him – we need a BACK-UP for PIERCE, who CAN score and rebound!! I could only understand to take him at the 3. pos in the rotation and than only for the absolut vet-Minimum!
I asked god and he said: L.A. will lose again next year!! ^_°
i want bowen
Get him. He’s not goin to the spurs. He wants a contenedr, he mentioned Boston, Cleveland n Orlando and its goin to suck if we have to play against him un the playoffs and hurts us

I hope all of you realized that San Antonio released him for a very good reason.
He’s finished. Don’t you think if he had anything left, Pop would keep one of his guys? He was a system guy for SA. He won’t help the Celtics. He’ll take a roster spot.
You all are falling in live with the name, and what he used to be and not what he is now.
