The Celtics offseason? My rants.

They have yet to make a move. They are in the same class as The Lakers they have made a upgrade with Artest. They are the favorites right now. Im not clear on Odoms status as of now. They say he's coming back. The Cavs traded 2 guys that did not help  the year before. They over achieved last year. With Shaq this does not make them favorites. They still need a good two guard. The Spurs getting Richard Jefferson is huge, and they are not done. They will for sure heathy give the Lakers a run,and I think beat them for there last run maybe. The Magic did not get any better with Carter. Basically lost 4 player for him. Hedo is gone, and Rafer is gone, and There good young guard Lee is gone. Battie was a ok big body for them, and they lost Gortat to the Mavs. They will make a few more moves. At least they made a move.

The Celtics have yet to make a move. They have lost Marbury. Who I thought would have been much better, and they let Leon go. Glen Davis is 50/50 right now. Mr.Wallace is also 50/50 right now. Danny made no moves last year. He brought in Pat O'brynat that was a bust. Then he keeps Sam Cassell he does not play. He brings in Marbury, but he does not really have a full effect. Mikki Moore was not used in the playoffs.

Could Danny be a one hit wonder with The trades of Ray Allen, and Kevin. I hope

not. Wallace we must get,and we must get either Grant hill, Matt Barnes, and a wing, and another big man. Im not worried about a back up point guard right now. Cause in 2008 we won the championship without one. Sam Cassell did not play in the playoffs that much. Eddie House did. Rasheed will be a upgrade from P.J Brown. Im worried. I still think we can trade a few players Gabe Pruitt,or Tony Allen,And Brian ,or Billy Walker. Trade 3 of them for one good back up player. I just hope Danny really has some magic trips. I do not like the Lakers getting a head of us,or there chances getting higher to get to  our championship record.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

This is kinda confusing

but the point is clear. And I don’t want the Lakers catching us in number of titles (even though they only won 10 of them in LA). I’m not very knowledgeable on the subject, but staying healthy may be a bigger factor than if we go out and get someone.

In fairness, Ainge doesn’t have the flexibility to make moves outside of dealing Ray Allen. and just like the Rockets are finding out with McGrady, it’s hard to move a $20 mill plus contract even if it’s expiring. though it should be easier to move Allen b/c he’s at least been healthy these past few years.

most teams looking to cut payroll like the Jazz & Hornets need contracts that are going to be bought out like Big Ben’s or non-guaranteed deals like Jerry Stackhouse’s if they are going to get under the luxury tax this season.

they’ll probably have to take overpaid long term contracts in a deal for Ray. stuff like Stephen Jackson, Corey Maggette & someone like Kelenna Azubuike. or sign & trade David Lee, Nate Robinson & either Jared Jeffries or Eddy Curry’s contract. maybe Charlotte w/ Radmanovic, Diop, & Nazr.

outside of that there isn’t much unless you include Rondo since most team’s only have one contract they’re looking to get rid of (Rip Hamilton, Samuel Dalembert) and are unlikely to include a young player like lou williams or jason maxiell w/o getting a young player in return.

basically Ainge is stuck hoping vets come for cheap in hopes of winning a title.

I agree Artest maaybe overated

His defense was not that great in the playoffs. I watched all there games. Hey could not guard Kobe, They put Shane Battier on Kobe the whole series. He jacks up too many 3’s. He tries to play like Stephen Jackson from Golden state. Stephen is a much better player.

Whatever one might say about trade caps and luxury taxes and the rest, two key elements put you in the playoffs with contending power allowing that you already have enough talent:

1) a healthy team at the end of regular play, 2) a team with good chemistry.

Red certainly understood the latter; I think he probably also understood how to keep people healthy.

BTW, keep Gabe Pruitt. He knows the system and is ready to participate in the long-term campaign that is a season. Too much invested in him at this point. Sorry about Leon, but regarding my first point, above, I don’t see how Danny Ainge could have taken the risk. I wish Powe the best, hope that he surprises.
