Success is a Choice!!!
The day Rick Pitino signed with the Cs and unceremoniously pushed aside Red was one of the darker days in the Franchise. Also, remember that Larry was so disgusted with how Gaston handled the coaching search that he walked away from the Cs, a decision that had to be tough even for someone as hard nosed as LB. I don't really care about Pitino's personal life but this latest incident reveals, again, how skeweds the guru-college coach syndrome really is. Not that Pitino ever did the on-court and off-court antics of Knight, but he reveals what a fake he truly is. Anyone who could unironically title a book Success is a Choice has so lost perspective on reality because of ego it's laughable.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Clearly..
….Failure is a Choice as evidence by his recent actions as well as his awful GM decisions in Boston.
Getting drunk does not make you a failure
Haveing sex with a desireable woman does not make you a failure
Putting yourself in a position to be blackmailed does not make you a failure
DOING THE TYPE OF JOB OF GM AND COACHING THE CELTICS AS HE DID WAS A FAILURE
This thing that people say “it’s only business” . Must have been ushered in during that
era, because Red never gave business as an excuse. he said the team can’t afford it. So what’s the difference.
1) It’s only business says…. we won’t spend our money on you
2)We can’t affor it says….the money is not there
Red was not stupid enough to tell player’s he had the money but would not give it to them. Red made it about ism’s, remember catholicism, buddaism there’s more ism’s but my point is people will gladely give there life for a cause but not for money
Here we go again with the comparisons to Red
It’s not like our roster’s already locked up as it is. Like other have said, if we were able to get Daniels via a S+T, we probably would have a roster spot open for Powe. Has it is, the Celtics still want a backup PG for Rondo. Maybe that needs Hudson comes. Maybe we bring back Marbury, or get Bobby Jackson or Jason Williams. Either way, we still do have a need to fill.
You seem to be an old school fan of the Celtics, and I respect that. At least, you seem like one if you’re talking about what Red would’ve done. That’s fine, but making it sound so simple for DA when it’s not isn’t fair and it sounds like you’re trying to knee-jerk everyone into thinking that Powe’s a victim. If Powe really can come back and be effective again, it’ll be another chapter in his story, and E:60 will probably feature him. But please stop making it sound like DA hung Powe out to dry, when chances are DA just wanted to wait till mid-season to get him.
that's silly
because players know that we DO have the money. They are not stupid, and neither are their agents. The celtics are in one of the biggest markets in basketball right now, with some of the most sold out games in the league. believe me, they know boston has the money. it would be an insult if DA lied to them and said he didnt.
slick rick
I had high hopes when he became the coach but he was primadona and it was all about him and his needs. those were some dark days for sure. I don’t bear Pitino any ill will but he sure didn’t help. He was smart enough to draft chauncey but then stupid enough to trade him for kenny anderson. he also gave away rick fox and david wesley for nothing. He blew the call on Ben Wallace by keeping schinzius instead and the list goes on and on.
Televangelist
Rick Pitino is a man who believes he has the ability to define other people’s success based on his own ieology which has been proven time and time again to be nothing more than a series of catch phrases. He does not embody what he preaches therefore lends his words zero credibility. How any parent (who cares enough) turns their son over to a televangelist/used car salesman such as Pitino is beyond me. Red would have seen this quality a mile away…think of all the coaches under Red…they all have a degree of integrity attached to them.
Rick Pitino`s recent humiliation...
Was the “feel good” story of the summer!!
