Whats Dannys Plan with Tony Allen and Scalabrine?
If Danny decides he wants to trade Tony Allen & Brian Scalabrine when do you think he will do so?
Will it be before the start of the season or will he wait until the mid season trade deadline, since their expiring contracts will have some market value at that time ?
Also either way, what players do you think we can get for either of them?
Also does any body think we can get a serviceable 3rd string center (If the C's don't think Swift can be the man for the job) in exchange for either one or maybe both of them?
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Ainge will keep them for the trade deadline. If he could have gotten something for them now, he already would have for the Marquis Daniels deal.
As for whom we could get for them, there’s no telling. GMs get desperate come the deadline, so it could be just about anybody.
As for a 3rd string center, I think Danny thinks he already solved that problem with the Williams signing. I wouldn’t have minded Swift, but I hope Danny is looking for a backup PG instead of another big man.

i agree swift i think isnt gonna make the team n the celtics will sign lester hudson 2 give him a chance at the backup role. u nevr kno at the trade deadline expiring contracts r one of the most valuable things u can have but they prob wont get any all star type player i think they wuld be best off keeping them till the next off season n target a allstar caliber player with ray allens contract n scal, tony, n any other extra money we have left

No Movement
Likely, there will be no movement with either of these two until the trade deadline.
No one wants to pick up Scalabrine’s contract at the start of the season. If he were a free agent today he’d be lucky to sign at the veteran’s minimum on a losing team. Allen may get a few nibbles, but no one will bite because of his inconsistent play. Certainly his oncourt talent is greater than a number of players, however he is yet to establish himself as a consistent player on the offensive or defensive end.
Danny will wait and see how the season progresses.
The sad thing is that they will impede the development and playing time of Giddens and Walker as Doc, after coaching inexperienced noobs for 4 years in Boston, wants only to play the Vets. Smart beats talented on most occasions.

I dont see any1 going after either ofthese two now or at the trade deadline.
Scal is just not that good of a player and if all goes well not get any playing time this year and with his salary if any1 wants him it will be at the trade deadline.
And tony allen might have been good to trade two years ago when he had some promise of being a good player, but now he isnt probably going to get any better.
So if we do end up trading them. What kind of return are we going to get> I know if I was DA i wouldn’t expect alot.

Good Points Doc
TA should have been traded two years ago.
9 + 20 + 34 + 5 + 43 = 17

At this point in time, with the signing of Williams & the resigning of BBD, I think what the C’s need is a dependable PG to back up Rondo… I dunno if there’s a possibility but I would love to have Swift in exchange of TA & Scal…

Trade Deadline
I agree that Scal/TA won’t be traded until the trade deadline. And I wouldn’t be surprise if they bring something good, especially if Danny spiced it up with a 1st Rd Draft Pick (with lottery protection). Heck look at what the Lakers and Spurs got for their garbage (Gasol) and (Jefferson). There is likely to be a GM desperate to dump a salary with 2 or more years left and hopefully it will be a PG or Combo Guard like Dooling from NJ – not necessarily Dooling but like him.
Regardless of our opinion of either Scal or TA, they have value as expiring contracts. But if they get showcased and show something, which is more the case with TA than Scal (you know what you are getting with Scal) we may get some real value (I’m and optimist and can hope). TA needs to show that he’s finally healthy and that his off court issues to be more valuable. I think his off court issues are more of a negative factor than his basketball ability or even his injuries.
