WOW
If his weight is down he might help a team. Not a young team, but a veteran team. He is around 33 or 34 last I checked. Not to old. I loved him here, but don’t see him in C’s camp.

I don't think Toine can help a team.
His age is 33, but his body is 45. He lost it years ago at a young age for some reason.

Hopefully out of those 4 teams...
None of them are the Celtics.

Some people never learn...
this should be the last place for Antoine to be bumping into anyone.

For anyone who believes...
…that any NBA team has any interest in Antoine, I have some ocean-front property in Kansas I`m seeking a buyer for!

For one short sentence, it says a lot. Would any GM really be interested in a
guy who, even when he was young, was a horrible athlete with an incredibly ugly game, who hasn’t played well or been in shape for years, and who has a very public gambling problem yet continues to hang around casinos?
No.
Antoine’s greatest asset in his career was force of will. When he was at his best, he could will an inferior team to be competitive. But that same force of will led him to believe he didn’t have to work on his body or his game. He never worked on all the “IQ” aspects of the game that can prolong a guy’s career. He continued to take stupid shots and dominated the ball even though he clearly wasn’t the best player. He never learned position rebounding, which was crucial for a guy who had about a two-inch vertical in his prime. As a result, he became a non-rebounding, ball-hogging, low-percentage shooting, no-defense forward. And that was 3-4 years ago.
Well, there’s always Chris Wallace, so you never can tell.

I always thought...
that Antoine had an incredibly ‘pretty’ game. He had quick feet, made sweet passes, and had the best wiggle in the business. When I think of an ugly game, I think of guys like Scal or Ostertag…everyone has their own opinion of Antoine (I am a HUGE fan), but I never thought he was particularly ‘ugly’.

Shooting 38% from the field, and taking lots of shots to do it, is, to me, the definition of ugly.
So is a 6’8" guy living at the 3-point line, even tho he has absolutely no arc on his shot.

Antoine
Do any of these teams know he is planning on coming?
by RTroy on Sep 20, 2009 7:07 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Ummm..He did just say that he is TALKING with Four teams so yeah…They know he’s coming.
I see nothing wrong with Antoine trying to make a comeback. He has done nothing wrong except be stupid with his checks and gambling. But it’s not like he killed someone or was a mastermind of a dog-fighting ring…
He deserves to have another shot at playing in the NBA but he has to now realize that his big-contract days are over and he will need to be less of an impact player and more of a supporting player that contributes here and there on a team.

if only
I would love for Toine to get a gig….just not with us

And I have a feeling he will. It’s going to be a NON-GUARANTEED deal so whatever team takes a flyer on him won’t have anything to lose to give him a chance. If it doesn’t work out, he’s gone and that’s the end of that.
Personally, I think he will find a team that will give him a chance….A LEGIT Chance.
Golden State, Sacramento, and Detroit all come to mind. Detroit is on the downside and is rebuilding while Golden State is Goldenstate and Sacramento needs more leadership.

well
it doesn’t say anything about what league, so I’m going to go ahead and assume we could be looking at the cornerstone of the Red Claws franchise!!!

He’s disapointed me enough over the past few seasons, so much potential just wasted. Just go away so i can remember those few good years.
