Camp Questions: 15th Roster Spot

6 Days Till Camp! Leading up to the opening of training camp on Sept. 28 we'll be taking a look at several questions that should be resolved by the end of camp.

We've got 14 players under contract. Lester Hudson was drafted in the 2nd round but has yet to be signed. Dan Dickau has been invited to camp and I would venture to guess that another name or two could be added as well. There's a chance a last minute deal or signing could make this all moot. And of course the team keeps hinting that there's a chance the team could run with only 14 players.

What do you think they'll do?

I think a trade will come during the All-Star break. For now, they just add Hudson.

Did they not invite him to camp? I know he had a pretty bad summer league, but I missed the memo on him.

I forgot what I said the last time this was asked, but unless Marbury’s walking through that door (and outta that box -….you know I had to), I think Hudson and “friends” will compete for the final spot on the roster.

Yes, you're missing something. And that's the matter of defense in the backcourt.

Instead of imagining a backcourt of Lofton and House, try remembering how poorly the paired up House and Marbury looked on defense in last year’s playoffs.

The point’s been made repeatedly, but if the Celtics want to utilize House, then they need to be careful in who they team him up with.

People talk about our defense in the backcourt, yet so many wanna pass on Hudson...

He seems to be known for his defense, and seems to have his NBA body already, unless that picture just makes him LOOK good. He’s 6’3" and 190, and that 190 makes him three pounds bigger than Rondo.

So, I ask you: Do you believe in Hudson?
