Depending on which source you read, [Bobby] Jackson has been mentioned to be headed to the Celtics or the Suns. Whichever route he takes, he will probably have to earn a job with a non-guaranteed contract. He will have to prove he still has flashes of brilliance.

If Dan
Is going to the Suns camp.I would see Bobby coming to our camp. If that’s the choice of teams. Bobby would okay. He played well for his age last year. He’s instant offense. A lot more than Cassell was for us. Bobby is a bit younger. The thing is if we sign him.No Hudson,or Giddens will be let go.
Welp
Even if Bobby Jackson does come here, this could very easily be the competition Hudson was talking about having to beat for the backup PG spot. This could be interesting though; if Jackson does come and “instant offense” isn’t enough to beat Hudson, then chances are Hudson can contribute this year. : )
Yeah, good news!
I hope Bobby will show us a lot of good things in camp and sign with us, he could be a big help off the bench and allow Marquis to be strictly a wing.
I would like to have Hudson on the team too so it would be a hard choice but… it still would be cool to see Jackson in camp.
That's the way to do it
Bring him to camp, no guarantee and let the best man win between him and Hudson. Bobby Jackson used to be pretty good but age haunts all athletes. It can be over quick. So, no guaranty.
he wants a guaranteed offer:
“Sam Amick: B-Jax on his future, via text: “Still don’t know yet, teams want me to come in on a non guarantee and I don’t want to. So I’m waiting.” Yesterday."
If no team breaks down and gives him a guaranty, then if I'm Jackson I pick Boston:
I’m more confident in besting Dickau than in beating Hudson.
If we get bobby jackson do you think theres any chance we keep hudson also and release giddens or walker
Bring hudson overseas
I would also drop TA before I drop Walker/Giddens

The Problem With Jackson
is that he does nothing for your future. I would prefer a younger backup pg who could be developed.
Future
But who really cares about the future? Rondo is the future at PG. So who are we going to develop, the backup who is going to play 15 mpg 3 years from now? You don’t need to develop a player like that; you can just sign one for 2 million dollar three year from now.
Suppose They Can't Sign Rondo?
And Bobby Jackson isn’t going to be happy with 10-15 mpg either.
The should have signed Kevin Ollie two months ago. That would have been the perfect solution.
How do you know...
That Jackson isn’t going to be happy with 10-15 MPG at 36 years old? The main problem, as greenwise stated, seems to be that the Celtics aren’t willing to offer Jackson a guaranteed contract.
I won’t pretend I know who Ollie is, but I think “the perfect solution” has left the train months ago, and that at absolute best it comes in mid-season. : \ So, do you wait for that or do you hope Hudson can do something now? I say the latter.
And…I won’t pretend I know much about the contract talks with Rondo, but I don’t see how the Celtics don’t give Rondo what he deserves. I really hope this isn’t your main issue, cause I know you’re not saying you want someone like Jackson to take Rondo’s spot in the future.
Time
He probably doesn’t have too much time left to decide, training camp is Monday.
I like it
He’s not what he used to be when he was a perennial 6th man award candidate, BUT… the guy is a veteran, has never had a major injury, can still defend, hardly ever turns the ball over and can still score reasonably well. Very solid as a 9th – 10th man type.
IF Doc uses him right, a nice pickup. And if Hudson beats him out, then a win-win situation because he must have really shown something to do it.
