Eddy Curry to Celts as back up center against Howard and Shaq?
UFA eddy is avalible, hardly played last year fat and injured dosnt fit in with Dantionies fast pace or game plan. Latest report is he has lost wieght and is ready for a return. Could trade tony, SCal maybe giddins and have a big body for fouls against howard and shaq. The vets would whip him into shape mentally and physically, and celts attmosphere would clean up and change his attitude into a monster. Better than Robert Swift! What do you guys think? possibility or loser thats done?
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

couple things about this.
1) Eddy Curry isn’t available. He has a player option to become an UFA next year, but this year he is still under contract. you can verify that here: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=FreeAgents-09-10
2) The salaries of TA, Scal, and Giddens do not add up to Curry’s $9 million salary for next year. And there’s no reason to trade four players for a 3rd string center.
So, no, I don’t think is a possibility.
Being a serious Celtic fan I take offense with this post. I also take offense with who ever is in charge of this blog. There are any number of past articles from the Globe or the Herald about legendary Celtic player of the past. What is Satch Sanders doing now, how are past players health, what about there hobbies. This time of the year things are slow but being creative is part of the job description. Please don’t insult us with Eddy Curry garbage.
I'd hate to take the high road on this post, too
Cause I don’t think you’re trying to troll, savage hooper. However, I have to agree with tyquinton. This is basically another “is this a joke?” post.
Firstly, you’re comparing Eddy Curry to Robert Swift when at absolute worst, Shelden Williams is taking what role Robert Swift could ever be on this team this year. We have too many bigs; we don’t need another one.
Like KY Celts fan already said, Eddy Curry’s still under contract with the Knicks, and there’s no point in trading the players we’d need to salary-wise to do such a deal. Not really possible, but not really logical, either.
All we need is a backup PG and we’re set. Whether we tryout Hudson or try to get Arroyo (remember, he’ll say where he’s going after the Americas Games on September 6th, REMEMBER THAT) we’ll see sometime soon.
So, in short, I’d pass on Eddy Curry, and I don’t think the Celtics have even thought about him. You’re not obligated to post about what former great Celtic players are doing now, but please, don’t make me or anyone else laugh as far as players like Eddy Curry ever coming here this year, especially players that would be 6th or 7th on our depth chart for their position.
