Celtics Press Release
BOSTON (January 14, 2010) – The Boston Celtics and NBA Cares are teaming up with UNICEF to help aid the on-going relief efforts from Monday’s earthquake in Haiti. Celtics fans can make donations at the team’s home games on Thursday, January 14 and Monday, January 18. Donations made at those two home games will be matched by the team’s Shamrock Foundation.
"We are appealing to the generosity of Celtics fans to join the Celtics organization and the Shamrock Foundation in our efforts, through UNICEF, to provide vital services to the earthquake victims in Haiti during this great time of need" Celtics Team President Rich Gotham said.
Celtics fans not attending either game who wish to contribute should log onto www.celtics.com, visit the team’s Facebook and Twitter pages or call 1-800-4UNICEF.
On January 12 a massive earthquake rocked the Caribbean nation of Haiti, causing mass devastation. The Boston Celtics and NBA Cares have joined forces with long-time partner UNICEF, to bring attention to the crisis and much needed emergency assistance to the victims.
