The Nate Rumor Returns
Our pal TenaciousT tipped me off to a rumor that Mark Spears floated at the bottom of his recent column. Anyone interested in a (very) undersized two guard with a questionable attitude?
The Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams who have expressed some interest in New York Knicks guard Nate Robinson(notes), league sources said. Robinson's base-year status, however, makes it difficult for any trade and the Knicks are said to be reluctant to ship Robinson to an Eastern Conference team, further complicating the Celtics' efforts to land him.
Have at it on the Trade Machine, I couldn't find a combination that worked, got bored and gave up. Personally, I'm not interested, we already have the real Kryptonite for Duuuhhwight anyone, Kendrick Perkins, but more importantly I really do not like Nate's game. He needs the ball to be effective, and that's not how the Celtics offense works. On the positive side, it sounds like he really wants to play in Boston, but that's about all I've got.

Questionable attitude? Sounds like a right fit!
Doc’s shown his ability to handle attitudes before. I don’t see Nate being any worse than Marbury. Get him, kit him out and lets see what he can do for us.

Doc’s shown his ability to handle attitudes before.?????????
Grant, McGrady, Blount, Banks, Davis, Lafrentz, etc etc etc?? That Marbury gamble worked out great…You’re probably right. Couldn’t be any worse than that.
No thanks. We already have a better shooter and much better rebounder and defender in Eddie House.

Yeah I tried quite a few combos and con’t get a trade too work that we would want!
Why do I have this feeling...
…that the Celtics at some point today will deny interest in Nate?
thanks but no thanks ..
they should be trying to make the nocioni deal or get another big man we got daniels dont need nate ..
I found one that works but...
they would have to give up wilson chandler and I can’t see them doing that for this. It’s Scal and JR for Nate, chandler and marcus landry. The only thing I could think of is that chandler has another year on his contract but the 1.2 mil is a small price to pay for the production he gives them.
Another one that works...
Its Scal and Walker for Nate and Chandler.
we need nate the great
good ball handler n scorer dont realy need defense off the bench just points, he can be our jamal crawford but better .. this can realy separate us from the rest of the competition sheed n nate off the bench thats a decent starting line up.. if this trade does happen im guessing right b4 the deadline when daniels is coming back.. dunno who we would give up but im guessing tony allen n scal will be in it and either giddens or walker
trade that works in trade machine
With a BYC player, three-way trades make it a lot easier. Here’s one:
Knicks send Robinson to Boston, and Jared Jeffries and Jordan Hill to Utah.
Jazz send Carlos Boozer to New York.
Celtics send Brian Scalabrine to Utah.
If the Celts want Robinson, surely they’d be willing to give up Scalabrine for him.
The Knicks would do the trade in a minute, because Boozer is a good player with an expiring contract, and they’d be freed from Jeffries’ contract, and only have to give up two players Mike D’Antoni doesn’t like much.
Utah would probably not do it, even though Boozer is likely gone after the season and is taking away minutes from Paul Millsap. And surely, they don’t want Jeffries, let alone wanting to pay him nearly $7 million next year. But if the Knicks sweeten the deal with cash and a draft pick, it could happen.
Of course, that would basically be a trade between the Knicks and the Jazz, and they really don’t need to involve the Celtics to get it done…
