Kevin Garnett Practices

Greg Dickerson just posted the following on CSNNE.com:

Celtics forward Kevin Garnett is out on the floor practicing with his teammates after the team raised the curtains for the last 15 minutes for media availability. Garnett is expected to return within the next week from a knee injury.

I'm sure much more will be reported on this as the day goes on. Stay tuned for updates.

Update: Video of KG working on his (deep) jumper.  (via Chis Forsberg) Maybe he wants to participate in the 3 point contest too.

Update 2: Interview and notes via ESPN

KG for 3!

That video just made me wish that we could have seen KG vs. Dirk last night!

This team

could use a little good news. BTW, KG who is a career .273 three point shooter went 7 for 9 in that video from range.

Just sayin…

no need to panic

We’ve got January, Febuary and March to slog through still before we start to get to some meaningful ball. Let our vets miss as much time as they need right now to get healthy.

Being extra cautious with KG, Pierce, Sheed and Daniels is worth losing a few extra regular season games; especially this year considering 1- how weak the East is, and 2- how much better of a road team we’ve become.

At the end of the day, Atlanta and LA are the only teams who can compete with us in a 7 game series.

"Sanity, thy name is Kevin Garnett"

…upon hearing that, KG stopped banging his head against the stanchion just long enough to let out a maniacal laugh.

Gawd, we need KG back in a bad way.

Perhaps more than anything else, we need his ’tude!

(of course, his ability to dominate the paint on defense doesn’t hurt ….)

KG is shooting threes in practice? Maybe they are going to bring him back to land the three, because Allen and House are so inept at it this season!

by specwarop on Jan 19, 2010 8:38 PM EST reply actions

Ray Allen can still produce on occasions, but House has been a big disappointment this season … so far.

I hope

KG is cleared to play because he is truly healthy, but not because he is rushed back to save the team. It will be fantastic if the team with a healthy KG can end the month of January with 3 straight wins — Magic, Hawks and Lakers.

Couldn't tell for sure

if the guy shooting and making 3s in the video is really KG. The form, the shape and movement look real and I couldn’t see his face. A KG double ?

Good news

First good news I’ve heard in awhile with this team! I reallyyy hope he plays on Friday against Portland…it’s my first Celts game this year, and probably my last so it would be great to see him.

Although, of course, his health is more important.
