According to a person with ties to Doc Rivers, the Celtics coach wouldn't mind getting the chance to coach Robinson, even if he's high-maintenance. "Doc thinks he can connect with anybody," said the source.

I believe him.

Doc, for all his flaws, is in my opinion a perfect head coach in this regard. He knows how to connect to people, to handle/manage ego’s, to be on the same page with his players and influence them. I really think, at that, he’s the best coach out there (for as far as I can tell anyway.)

That’s his biggest plus, and that’s why this team “works”.

Doc

Be real Doc can’t coach, what has he done lately not two years ago …… Players win games ….

Yeh Doc is good, but he hasn’t really been able to reign in Sheed, and stop him from talking all those pesky technicals.

Nate...Nate...Nate...

Doc did pretty well with Marbury so Nate shouldn’t be much of a problem. It’s kind of funny how we are getting all the Knicks problematic players to play for us.

what would the knicks want?

lawrence makes the obvious point: considering nate has an expring contract, why would the knicks trade him to a rival for players who are not as good? without a pick from the Cs or jeffries involved, it’s not happening. i don’t believe the Cs would take on jeffries with only nate coming back considering they lose his bird rights when he approves the trade, meaning they’d have to use the MLE next summer to sign him.

i say, give up a pick, insist on chandler from the knicks, and do it — jeffries, chandler & robinson for scal, eddie, TA, walker and a 1st.

Yep!!.. Or...

House, Scal and Tony for Nocioni
And Giddens and Sergio Rodriguez for Nate

just curious

are you Hazinho under a different name?

by slamtheking on Jan 20, 2010 11:23 AM EST up reply actions

of course

what coach is going to say he cannot connect with a player he could potentially be coaching?

by slamtheking on Jan 20, 2010 11:24 AM EST reply actions

Noooooooooooooooo

Say it isn’t so! Can’t we get someone more talented and a little taller? There has to be better 1/2 guards on the market.

Trade

Jamison would have been better for the Celtics ….

Like I said before, I have a Knicks fan friend of mine who lives in NY and is very close to Knicks management. Very close. Im not BS you. His beef with Nate is that Nate does not listen to anything his coach tells them in the huddle and goes out and does his thing his way. Maybe that was a factor in his getting traded. Personally, I dont think Sheed gives a hoot himself to anything Doc tells him anyways, so as long as Microwage Nate puts it in the basket frequently, as that Piston Microwave used to do; I dont care what that idiot of Doc tells him to do. go Nate Go. My quiestion is: Marcus Landry seems to be a strong boy just as Walker is, but healthier. Any way he can help us while we slowly fade away, a la Gen. McCarthur? lol We got new young blood, Very good!
