KG Is An All-Star Starter

Boston.com reports:

Despite missing the past 10 games heading into Friday's game with the Portland Trail Blazers, Kevin Garnett has been named a starter on the Eastern Conference All-Star team along with Allen Iverson, Dwight Howard, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

Garnett is averaging 15 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and nearly 55 percent shooting.

The West starters are Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Amare Stoudemire, Tim Duncan and Carmelo Anthony.

There's no word yet as to whether he's expected to play.

I agree. Who should start at PG for the east?

Now the Gilbert is gone I think Rondo could acctually be considered a legitimet contender for the starting PG

I know A.I is starting but…. well he sucks.

by Zak B on Jan 21, 2010 7:56 PM EST reply actions

I'd start Joe Johnson

… but Rondo is best point guard in the East.

KG should not play,

KG doesnt deserve to be an All Star this year, so is A.I. and T-Mac. Other starters definitely deserved.

Agree

The NBA All-Star game is a joke. Without any stipulations, Iverson and his poor attitude can hop scotch around the league and still get voted in. T. Mac is a great player but does a player really deserve to be an All-Star when they haven’t even worn the new off their sneakers?

Ground rules need to be set or start letting the players and coaches vote. The All-Star balloting, as it is now and has been, is crap.

it should be.. rondo, wade, lebron, bosh, howard in the east.. the west i think you cant argue any of the starters

Since you pick two "guards", rather than a point guard...

I’d start Johnson, Wade, Lebron, Bosh, and Howard

totally agree too

Bosh for K.G. and Rondo for AI. WTF AI??? Whats going on here, first nobody will sign him and after that he becomes an all star again? Thats disgusting, sry .

I asked god and he said: L.A. will lose again next year!! ^_°

Congrats KG

Didn’t really deserve it, but I sign of respect I guess. Sorry to Bosh.

13 out of 14 for KG now… not bad.

by Big Ticket on Jan 21, 2010 8:33 PM EST reply actions

dont deserve it.

kg did not play enough games to be in the game and iverson please what is the n.b.a. doing hey kg rub some aspercreem on your knee and get back in there hey it works for shaq ..

I hope he doesn't play

Why risk injury to play in a meaningless game?

by Brickowski on Jan 22, 2010 1:09 AM EST reply actions

Absolutely agree

That Iverson is in it, let alone starting, makes this game a mockery of what is already a meaningless exhibition. Garnett doesn’t belong in it, period.

Let our players rest.

heheh

Well, if KG was able to be voted in as an All-Star starter, people can’t say the league is totally against us (apart from the refs of course).

And yeah, Bosh should be starting.

by Tai on Jan 22, 2010 1:20 AM EST reply actions

KG, please don’t play.

by cheekmeister on Jan 22, 2010 2:15 AM EST reply actions

Iverson deserves it as much as KG does...

KG isn’t close to an all-star this year. He has missed a lot of time, his numbers aren’t great….

by rickyfan3.0... on Jan 22, 2010 8:09 AM EST reply actions

AI deserves nothing

He has a poor attitude and his presence disrupts a teams chemistry. Read the following artice:

Grizzlies’ forecast brightened after A.I. left

He’s taking away an all-star spot from another more deserving player in the league. Iverson just needs to go home and take care of his family.

I think KG should skip the allstar game

and just stay home and rest and heal up some more.

The game is not important, but he ones in the spring will.

GO K.G.!!!!!!!!

If anyone deserves this honor, HE DOES. I’m so happy for him.

by mmbaby on Jan 22, 2010 10:14 AM EST reply actions

Numbers don't mean nothing

KG is a defensive player…he is by far the best defensive power forward in the league..If he were still in MN where he’d have had to take lots of shots, his number could have been lot better. IMO he deserved to be an all star.
