LeBron James should get ejected
Did anybody see what he did with 24 seconds left in the Laker game last night? He started rapping 16 bars from Eminem. Have you read the lyrics to that song? It is filled with hate, and deroggatory remarks to women as well as others. This should have been an automatic ejection. What is wrong with this league? Do you really think that is acceptable at an NBA game? I am disgusted by this. I'll tell you one thing. I don't put up with this. Had I been in that arena, and LeBron not ejected, I sure would have. Because I would never ever let someone show me up whether I'm on a team or not, by rapping some garbage lyrics about hating women and other people. This is an embarrasment. Think about what Glen Davis did in Detroit and how he got fined, and now think about what LeBron does here. This should be a 2 game suspension and $50,000 fine. If you don't agree that the rapping should warrant a suspension, that is your choice. Read the lyrics to this song and then tell me what you think.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Is the name of the song actually "16 bars"?
Because I can’t find this song on Google.
Seems to me like you’re just looking for a reason to hate. Let it go, we’re all entitled to our own personal tastes in music. And if he wants to sing, let him sing, it wasn’t hurting anyone, he wasn’t directing the song at anyone. This is completely different than Davis losing is cool and going nuclear on a fan.
No its not
“Bashing in the brains of these h***”
“This s*** is exactly what the f*** that I’m talking about when we riot”
“When I slap the taste out your mouth with the bass so loud that it shakes the place”
“I’m Hannibal Lecter son just in case you’re thinking of saving face”
Those are the lyrice to the song, and you are talking about me being the one lookin for a reason to hate. Those are the exact lyrics to the song that LeBron rapped. And you’re telling me that is different from what Glen Davis did? And you’re telling me that those aren’t hurtful lyrics, and that Glen Davis was hurtin someone, and LeBron James wasn’t?
Players sing along and rap along to songs all the time. So do the fans, all the time. The cheerleaders dance to the songs at halftimes all the time. If your going to fine anybody (which I wouldn’t) fine the person responsible for playing the song, dont fine people who enjoy the song.
And if your going to fine and suspend players for derogatory remarks, then I suppose your also suggesting that you want Kevin Garnett, Rasheed Wallace, and Kendrick Perkins to be fined and suspended. They are all known for the frequent “derogatory lyric” throughout the course of a game.
No
Garnett, Rasheed & Perkins have already been fined numerous times. Look at the light interview Sheed just had after the Dallas game and it cost him $35,000.
You are saying players sing along and rap along to songs all the time. 1 second before they inbound the ball? I don’t think so.
Ohhh
Eminem’s part of the “Forever” song by Drake. I actually like that whole song, including Eminem’s lyrics in it.
That’s what you’re having a hissy fit over?
Since I actually like that song myself, do you want me fined? You were gonna get yourself ejected from a game over a song being played over the PA in the arena and Lebron feeling it? Hilarious.
not
Rasheed saying some calls were bogus, Glen Davis telling off a fan.
That’s what you’re having a hissy fit over?
WHy are you asking me that
As if I fined Rasheed for what he said about the refs? Rasheed’s already had a technical rescinded, so I could care less what Stern wants to do to make the players shut up about the refs.
Big Baby does need to know better, I won’t get a “hissy fit” over it though. I don’t think Big Baby deserved to be ejected for it like you want Lebron ejected for rapping, for example.
It’d be one thing if you suggested Lebron should’ve been T’d up, even though I don’t see what’s wrong about him rapping about a song that was played for the entire arena to hear (and rap along to). Do you want the PA tossed, too? Or the people working the sounds? The fact you wanted Lebron ejected or “you sure would’ve” had yourself ejected AND that you’re trying to compare it to what Big Baby did makes me question your objectivity to this issue in the first place.
That’s the kind of talk I’d expect to hear from a soccer mom. Then again, a soccer mom may or may not watch a basketball game in the first place if she had such problems like this.
you would have ejected yourself with 24 seconds left in the game? way to stand your ground!!! if you dont like the song, the artist, the basketball player DONT ATTEND A GAME, DONT BUY THE CD.
really?
Thats ridic. If you actually look at eminems lyrics to the song its not about eminem ‘hating women or people.’ This really shouldn’t bother you this much buddy
ok sure look at the lyrics to the song you said
"Bashing in the brains of these h***"
"This s*** is exactly what the f*** that I’m talking about when we riot"
"When I slap the taste out your mouth with the bass so loud that it shakes the place"
"I’m Hannibal Lecter son just in case you’re thinking of saving face"
i loved dasefx growing up.. but you need to relax, who cares. if you dont like lebron for singing it. fine who cares. dont listen to your radio so you dont hear the song. next week we’ll all sit around holding hands singing a grath brooks song! your really this mad about? get outside for a bit!
2 game suspension? for singing a song?
I’m not a fan of eminem either, or Lebron’s antics, but Lebron has the right to listen to and consequentially sing anything he wants. he wasn’t attacking or taunting anyone like Baby did. we don’t need to take everything so seriously.
what does this headline say?
“Davis fined for inappropriate language”.
And this is also inappropriate: "Bashing in the brains of these h***"
LeBron has the right to listen to and consequentially sing anything he wants-not at an NBA game he doesn’t.
not at an NBA game he doesn’t.
yes, he does. he’s not directing it at any person imparticular, and he’s not even making an actual statement. if he is allowed to dance at the end of games and put on little skits, singing a song is no big deal. personally, I’d like to how to know the lyrics so well if you despise them so?
I’m sorry, but you’re not going to win this argument. you’re simply overreacting. the only way you can prove your position right is if you show precedent. show me another instance where a player has been fined or suspended for singing lyrics to a song during a game?

24 seconds left
it was not at the end of the game, they were up 2 points with 24 seconds left. far from the game being over.
You want him suspended even though....
…the song’s being played for everyone else in the arena to hear and rap along to? I mean, I’d hope you’d at least blame the sound crew too for playing the song before you blame Lebron too. Otherwise, what’s the difference between Lebron rapping it and someone in the stands?
As Casperian has pointed out on the front page,
if you’re suspending LeBron for this, what of KG?

Lebron should be ejected but not for rapping
did u see when he shot a three. tought he got hit on the elbow(which replay showed he didnt), he then proceeded to attempt a flop, got back up immediately and started screaming at the ref violently, anyone else wouldve got a tech

Lebron should be ejected for mouthing words to a song
… that was playing over the loudspeaker system in the arena? Isn’t that the arena’s fault? If they’re playing the song… and “they” represent the NBA… how is Lebron at fault for singing along?
DRJ1
Do you understand what “Bashing in the brains of these h***”" means?
Ejected
when I’m talkin about me getting ejected, I’m talkin about me putting LeBron in the 10th row and security ejecting me. I don’t put up with stuff like that. Imagine saying those words to your girlfreind.
So you're delirious....
…AND arrogant. I’m not gonna make any assumptions on whether you could actually beat up Lebron in a fight or what not, but the fact you’re claiming you’d want to fight Lebron over rapping lyrics to a song played over the loud speakers in the arena shows me that something may very well be wrong with you.
lyric
is the lyric correct or not?
is it appropriate or not?
Wait
What do you mean by if the lyric’s “correct”. I regret that I don’t know if Eminem has bashed some brains.
Is it an appropriate lyric? See, obviously my mom or teacher in class wouldn’t like such language coming out of my mouth, but that doesn’t mean I won’t sing out while walking down the street by myself. But, is it inappropriate? Sure, that’s why you see the “Explicit Content” label on those CDs. At the same time, that’s also why the lyrics are censored in music videos. Now, I don’t know if they were in the arena, but I’m sure almost everyone knows the inappropriate words anyways.
So let me ask you this: Do you believe that players get fined/t’d up/ejected/suspended for every inappropriate word that comes out of their mouths?
you already answered the question
“But, is it inappropriate? Sure” Then you tried to talk about putting labels on CD’s. An NBA game is not a CD.
You're right
An NBA game live can’t be censored. That’s the only difference, especially if you’re courtside.
I think it’s clear you don’t like Lebron. OH well.
Forever
Kenny Loggins wrote a song called “Forever” also.
“Now, while we’re here alone and all is said and done
Now I can let you know because of all you’ve shown
I’m grown enough to tell ya
You’ll always be inside of me.
How many roads have gone by
So many words left unspoken
I needed to be be your side
If only to hold you.
Forever in my heart
Forever we will be
Even when I’m gone
You’ll be here in me
Forever "
Here is Eminem’s version:
“Bashing in the brains of these h***
And establishing a name as he goes
The passion and the flame is ignited
You can’t put it out once we light it
This s*** exactly what the f*** that I’m talking about when we riot
You dealin’ with a few true villains
Whose stand inside of the booth truth spillin’
And spit true feelings, until our tooth fillings come flying up out of our mouths
Now rewind it!
Payback m******* for the way that you got at me, so how’s it taste?
When I slap the taste out your mouth with the bass so loud that it shakes the place
I’m Hannibal Lecter son just in case you’re thinking of saving face”
Now are you going to sit there and tell me Kenny Loggin’s lyrics & Eminem’s lyrics mean the same thing?
Really disappointed in the number of comments on this thread...
I thought this was going to be something interesting, due to the apparent number of hits..
But, alas, in reality it’s a sad excuse for a basketball fan complaining about LeBron this or LeBron that. Ironic that your handle is the name of a rap group responsible for lyrics like:
“So bring your weapon or keep it steppin or hit the deck-in
cos in a second I’ma pull a f***in Tek-in
Start rejectin em, affect em when I kick
Y’all n****s think you’re slick but y’all can suck my f***in d**k”
Clearly you don’t have a problem with “hate filled lyrics” so maybe you’re upset about Big Baby’s fine? Glen Davis was fined for directing his comments at a fan in a totally appropriate manner that was heard on national television. If a radio personality were to do that on a live broadcast you could probably expect the same or worse (Don Imus, anyone?).
Either way you should get off your high horse and give it a rest.

DasEfx
I’m not responsible for any lyrics by DasEfx it is just a screen name.
Let it go, you're wrong
And I didn’t know who DasEfx was, but now that half_beard has pointed it out, it shows that your statements are hypocritical. You’re obviously a fan of DasEfx, otherwise you wouldn’t have made it your handle. But you claim you’re not responsible for their lyrics, yet Lebron is responsible for Eminem’s?
You haven’t shown one instance of precedent for your claims that Lebron should be suspended. For some reason you brought up Kenny Loggins out of nowhere. And made some comment about David Stern. You’re not making any sense whatsoever, but you’re too inept to recognize it!
And yes, we all know what "Bashing in the brains of these h***"" means. But Lebron didn’t write this, nor did he say it to any of the players. You’re simply repeating this over and over, which is exactly what people who don’t know how to argue nor have a sound argument do.
I can no longer take any comments you say on this board seriously anymore.

fine/tech etc
“Bashing in the brains of these h***”" means. But Lebron didn’t write this, nor did he say it to any of the players
Doesn’t matter he said it.
is this really a topic that needs to be talked about?? anyone not named dasefx (which by the way your ruining there name!) please answer!?!
you dont like anything to do with what happened.. ok fine, we understand.
the point your NOT getting is YOUR THE ONLY ONE THAT CARES!! if you have a problem with it shut up and keep it yourself, dont buy an eminem cd, dont buy a lebron jersey cause he mouthed lyrics to a SONG. listen to kenny loggins, kenny rogers, mr rogers, what ever you want thats your choice. but if lebron wants to say lyrics to a song in public WHO CARES. if he’s out there beating up woman and children then i’m all for locking him up. but until them stop living the shelterd life. and realize that its just lyrics!!!
I'm the only one?
Go ask a respectable woman if they feel they would like that lyric told to them, and then tell me I’m the only one.
Thing about this is....
….you’re basically saying you don’t like rap by claiming to be offended by this so much. You’re not just ragging on Lebron when you do this, you’re ragging on every rap fan that actually likes this entire song, on top of Eminem’s verse. I don’t care if you claim to be a DasEfx fan, you can’t claim to have a problem with what Lebron said and then claim to be a rap fan. I refuse to buy that at this point.
There are a lot of things I wouldn’t say to a respectable woman, so this is a non-issue. I’m sure a respectable woman would find a million reasons to not go to a NBA game, in the first place. For example, when I went to the Mavs game on Monday, someone next to me was calling Jason Kidd a wife beater. I just shrugged it off and laughed a little cause I came to watch a game, not heckle players about something that happened two or three years ago. But I’m sure someone who heard that wouldn’t want to go to a game again either.
There are a lot of things said at a NBA game by players that probably shouldn’t be repeated in front of a respectable woman. You probably want us to believe that everything said has and will be fined, and if you do, I’ll be here to ask if you believe in Wonderland, too.
Get over it, you’re fighting a losing battle, and quite honestly, I dare you to make a topic like this in the Cavs’ SBNation blog if you feel so strongly about this. I’ll be there to see how they react to this.
But appparently
Dasefx does. Do they really say “y’all can suck my f***in d**k” ?
You’re just blowing smoke up our butts at this point. This is a non-issue and you just want to make Mt. Fuji over it, and you know it.
nope
I’m not giving you DasEfx lyrics, its just a screen name.
It's just a screen name?
That almost sounds as good as “it’s just a lyric”, but for some reason you think it should be enough to get Lebron tossed and suspended, even though said lyric was played in the entire arena.
You’re bordering on trolling.
the screen name
there is nothing profane about saying “das efx”
Cavs sbnation?
wow I couldn’t tell if this was the Cavs sbnation or not, after looking at some of your comments.
you probably won't find any Lebron apologists here
but you will find a bunch of people who actually know how to think and reason and not get caught up on one stupid, pointless, irrelevant detail.

wanna talk rap lyrics huh?
big whoop
if you think bashing the brains of these h*** isn’t a big deal, congratulations.
I think you’re overreacting. Look at the context, he was rapping to himself, if he was toe to toe with someone on the sideline and yelling those lyrics in their face it might have been different. He was just getting himself into the zone for the next play. And you can see the reactions of the crowd behind him as hes rapping, theyre the only ones that could hear him, not one of them look offended.
Besides, the song was played for the whole stadium to hear, and i’m sure they get permission from the NBA before they play any music.
How is Lebron overreacting
He sings lyrics to a popular record (Drake’s “Forever”) and you make a topic about it because you find the lyrics offensive, and you claim to care so much even though HalfBeard exposed you as someone who’s a fan of a group that does the same thing. You’re a hypocritical person who’s trying to sound like he knows what he’s talking about, but you keep showing you don’t with every post you make.
I find the lyrics offensive
are the lyrics offensive or not? I never said I was a fan of DasEfx, its only a screen name.
For the record
DasEfx has been banned before by SBNation, supposedly for suggesting NBA games were rigged, and has a history of trolling other teams boards (the Hawks, Warriors).
this info is coming from previous posts by DasEfx, not any inside knowledge.

Basketball Official Here
So I’m gonna give you the low-down on ejections/technicals since you are so stubborn.
1. Nothing prevents a player from mouthing anything. Why? Because if you are going to read lips you are a moron. There is to much going on in a basketball game to concern yourself with a player mouthing something.
2. Again, he was mouthing the words to a song. You are only going to see a technical if you are belligerent to officials or other players. Also, background information would dictate that song is in his documentary, so essentially its almost like his song.
I hate Lebron, but this is just making a big deal out of nothing. If he went up to Kobe and said your mom is a hoe, then that would be something different. If the camera did do a close up on Lebron’s face, you never would have had any idea what he was saying. Its an example of the things you see on tv not exactly being a reality. If you as a ref are focusing on lip-reading the star player of a team, you are an awful ref.
edit
*camera didnt do a close up, you would have no idea what he was saying
