Chris Sheridan is Insane
He Lists Mark Blount as a veteran the C's are looking at as a potential fit. Sounds like a great idea!!!.:
Chris Sheridan of ESPN.com writes that the Celtics could add a veteran player to their roster over the next month.
Boston could wait for a veteran to be bought out by his current team and Sheridan listed Keyon Dooling, T.J. Ford, Mark Blount, Tony Battie, Jarvis Hayes, Trenton Hassell as potential fits.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Dooling and Ford
We need a backup PG. Stop asking for bigs. Seriously.
Also
Can I have link to Sheridan’s article concerning the Celtics? Or is it an Insider article?
The Celtics no doubt need more big man depth
considering KG’s and Rasheeds health and age and considering the fact our other back up big men Davis, Williams and Scal are all struggling this year.
The C’s big man overall (starters and backups) are also not doing a great job rebounding this year, so it would be nice to get a back up big man who can get rebounds.
I hope Danny can trade Scal and his valuable 3.4 million contract in exchange for a more talented and serviceable back up big man.
Danny also has Williams and Davis also that he can also use as trade bait to obtain one, especially before we head into the playoffs where rebounding will be vital and a rebounder will be nice to have on the bench to come in for spot duty when we are struggling getting rebounds.
See I don't get this
BBD is rusty, of course he won’t play as well. I guess breaking your wrist and then having to sit out for two months does this, but that doesn’t mean he’s “done”.
Besides, if healthy, KG, Perkins, and Rasheed can each easily play 32 minutes for the playoffs. Just between them, the 4 and 5 spots can be filled. And I don’t care what anyone says, for the playoffs, 32 minutes each for those guys MIGHT be too LITTLE. Out of that, BBD MAYBE can get some minutes, leaving Shelden or Scal with virtually none unless there’s garbage time.
So virtually, unless this player can pass BBD in the depth chart, he’s not worth a TRADE. MAYBE a buyout.
This is why I hate when people don’t want to put names to the people they claim they really wanna trade for. You’re trying to convince me this is what we should do, right? Then who should we get for Scal?
As far as backup PGs, I’m willing to take Ford or Dooling if we have to TRADE for a player. There is NO point in trading for a big when we can just put Scal or Shelden in for the regular season anyways, and then have them be purely emergency men in the playoffs.
Agree
We don’t have a backup point guard. Although House and Daniels can handle the ball at times they are not point guards. We also have a major gap defensively as far as the backup SG position goes. We are stacked with bigs, we don’t need another and I would say should get rid of one ……… Cough! …… Scal! ………. Cough!.

We are not stacked with bigs if
KG knee is a issue and Baby does not come out of the funk he is in.
We need another talented power forward if our starting power forward (KG) and our back up power forward (Baby) continue to struggle heading into the playoffs.
If KG knee flares up and Bbay continues struggling all season I do not want to go into the playoffs counting on Rasheed and Williams to bail us out.
Id rather we trade Scal and his valuable expiring 3.4 million contract, maybe Baby also if he continues to struggle come the trade deadline and get a legit, talented power forward we can count on before heading into the playoffs.
My view is
With KG’s health a issue and Baby struggling big time, what is so bad about upgarding the position especially if it means just trading bench players like Scal and Baby to do so?
My comment here comes hours after the C’s lost to Orlando in which KG looked like his leg was bothering him tonight.
Do we know for sure he will be healthy the rest of the year and come playoff time or will this be a problem all year long?
Baby struggled again last night and has been in a funk since his return.
Do we know that Babys’ slump so far this year is due simply to rust or is it possible that it is due to other reasons like maybe he has regressed as a player, has a weight problem, is not happy that he had to resign with the C’s, has a problem playing the power forward position due to him having a lack of height and length etc.?
I say with all these questions and the fact our starting and back up power forwards are struggling currently and potentially heading into the playoffs it makes full sense for the C’s to try to go out and make a trade to add more depth & upgrade the power forward position.
I hate when people do not give names when suggesting trades so here is my example of a trade that could be possible do if the Bulls want to dump salary to go after the big free agents that will be avaialble next year.
We can give them Scal and his valuable 3.4 million expiring contract along with Giddens 1 million expiring contract also and in return acquire power forward Tyrus Thomas who makes about 4.4 million.
Are you telling me you would not make that trade and think that he would be a big time upgrade over Baby as a back up power forward?
Thomas as a bonus (since he is fast and agile) would also remedy another team weak spot since he can also defend against big, strong small forwards.
I see such a trade (or one similar as it does not have to be for Thomas) as a no brainier that can not hurt the C’s but only improve the team overall and increase our shot at winning a title this year.
back up PG!
get t.j. ford! besides, indiana’s not using him at all..he’s even playing behind travis diener!!! BBD has got to go!!
