Is Rasheed being coached ?
Its really hard to see or understand what Rasheed is doing on the court half the time, it looks as though he's a free lancer doing whatever he pleases to do. Having a 6'11 center / forward shooting more three than he gets rebounds would be a problem for me. I would guess that his 3 points hoisting is nearly equal to his rebounding !! That has to be a problem for any coach. This team for the most part benefitted from Leon Powe's rebounding and inside scoring, Sheldon Williams brings more to the table with his inside play and rebounding than Rasheed. Doc is either dumb, blind, or foolish allowing Rasheed to play 25ft from the basket. Even the basketball commentaries are wondering about the play of Rasheed. I can't imagine Doc encouraging Rasheed to play that way !!!
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I think
Rasheed has the full green light to take all the 3’s he takes from Doc.
I assume this because you never see:
Doc visibly upset when he takes alot of 3’s and is missing them.
Doc pull him from a game when he takes alot of 3’s and is missing them.
See teammates visibly upset with him or call him out on the court when he takes them.
See Doc or players make any comments after the game to the press showing thier displeasure with Rashhed taking too many 3’s.
If he did not have the green light to take 3’s I am sure we would of seen one of the above situations take place.
I agree he takes to many 3’s and must take more shots in the low post instead.
He has tampered down taking 3’s a bit compared to earlier in the season, but he must get in the low post even more, since he I think is our best low post scorer.
Also yes Powe and Williams are better rebounders than Rasheed because they ( are better rebounders to begin with) but also because they station themselves close to the hoop in position to get rebounds unlike Rasheed who hovers alot out around the perimeter.
If Doc would have him get closer to the basket I think his rebounding numbers would be then be just fine.
I am not saying pull him in close to the basket all the time, because posting Rasheed outside the perimeter I think serves a important role in spreading the floor.
I know alot of people hate to see Rasheed posted on the outside, but I like it (again if he does not over due it) because I think its great when he draws out his defender like he did Howard the other night which opens things up offensively for the rest of the team in the low post.
Also keep in mind Powe and Williams are power forwards and do not have the length and bulk that Rasheed has to score in the low post against centers and defend against them which is what we needed when we signed Rasheed and he is doing decently currently for us.
If Rasheed was so effective at drawing his man outside the post so the C’s could get some easy baskets i must be missing those games because that doesn’t happen too often from my observation. Rasheed’s lack of inside play his lack of defensive and offensive rebounds, his lack of defense and often time quick shots are really offsetting the chemistry of the C’s. I would like to see Doc Rivers get on him or play him a lot less !!!

Rasheed just being out there is pulling a big man/shot blocker away from the basket. So his presence alone is getting us easy baskets, and if he’s open he’s got to take the shot.
absolutely! I watched game 6 of 2008 finals. Davis,Powe,Garnett, Pierce,Posey all taking charges tryin to anyway. offenseive rebounds Perk. It was true grit from the type of playsers powe davis posey especially that enabled that team to succeed. There’s such a thing as too much respect maybe that’s Doc right now.
Sheed is a big court factor
One of the best attributres of Sheed is how he affects/disrupts other teams plans. He’s definitely a wild card we need on this team. What you call “muscle”.
That's not our main issue
I am a total Rasheed fan since Portland – LA in 2000.
But I agree that Sheed played rather mediocre of lately.
But everyone who blames the team’s recent struggles on Sheed has totally lost his mind. Maybe Sheed is A problem but not THE problem of this team.
You cannot take any comments seriously that don’t even mention “the big 3”.
Doc is neither “Dumb, Blind or foolish” That premise would assume that he is one or two of these accolades. I firmly believe that he is Dumb, Blind AND Foolish, and he is not going to mess with Rasheed, either by design or by lack of guts. I tend to think that Rasheed is o out of shape and fat that if he was forced to play 80% of his office down in the paint and rebound offensively, it would take him forever to get back to defend in the paint, and we would pay the price of not having him on the defensive end of the court. If he stays in the offensive perimeter, its a much shorter drive to his defensive assignment closer to the defensive basket.
I have no definitive prove this is the case; it is just my assumption in trying to understand why he plays so much in the perimeter – he would run out of gas so much faster and I dont know which option is worse for us- honestly.
