I expected today to get news of a KG fine and an Andrew Bogut suspension. Twelve O'clock, Two O'clock, Six O'clock all rolled by and no news of any repercussions of the Garnett/Bogut Skirmish Round 2. I was slightly relieved and happy that the league didn't do something stupid and suspend both of them. But passive thinking turned to dwelling as I couldn't help but consider the hypocrisy of the NBA for doing nothing in this case. Remember back in 2008....fine, I'll remind you..
... Garnett was suspended for an A-Rod-like slap to Bogut's face. Was what Bogut did (even maybe what KG did), not worse than that slap? I can't help but think that if KG reacted like Bogut the media would be all over it and the NBA would be forced to review it, ultimately leading to a 25,000 dollar fine and a 1 game suspension.
So I'm torn. Is it a good thing that league would let something like this go, understanding the emotion that got the best of Bogut? Or is it a bad thing that a lack of punishment shows a clear inconsistency of the application of the new panzy rules? I'd would love to know anyone's thoughts on this.
