by nox45 on Dec 14, 2010 8:50 PM EST reply actions

Read it again.

LA gets Joe Smith.
Houston gets Terrence Williams.
NJ gets Vujacic and both teams first round picks.

Can't Wait. . .

to read how much ESPN hypes Smith tomorrow. He’s a laker now ya know.

Stupid of Lakers to give up a first for Smith, but glad they did.

Seemed like he was toast last year for Atlanta.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

They lost 5.5 mil in salary and double that in luxury tax, for Smiths 1.3 mil salary and a pick. Fair trade, teams do it all the time. Plus yeah it hurts competition in east and helps lessen the competion in the west if Melo yellow darts eastward.

Well

They also got rid of Sasha Vujacic with that pick for Joe Smith. They need help up front, though.

its financial decision

and sending melo to the east is not a bad thing for the lakers to say the least

LAL needs some help in the front court, they are really talented

but really short staffed, even with Bynum back their fourth big slot needed an upgrade

Ha ha ha

First Jordan Farmar and now Sasha Vujacic, sent to Siberia… I mean New Jersey.

by Sophomore on Dec 14, 2010 10:28 PM EST reply actions

Farmar

went willingly. Wasn’t going to get paid or playing time in LA. Now he’s the biggest fish in a very small pond. Wonder if he’s happy…

Would Melo really settle for "The Nets"...

After aspiring for the Knicks…..

We are talking about MSG….. Melo will not sign an extension for the Nets.

Nope, tis futile.
Even with the promise of brooklyn in a couple years, no quality free agents are joining that team in Jersey. Mired in mediocrity even with Melo. Why would he want that?

No kidding he wants to join the knicks, a big market team already starting to turn it around, why the hell would he want to sign with the nets? Id rather stay in Denver. What are the nets thinkin?

by Warrior Spirit on Dec 15, 2010 1:21 AM EST via mobile up reply actions

I'm not convinced

that he couldn’t be talked into signing with the Nets if they are able to keep Lopez and Harris and they promise him the max. Logically it would make more sense for him to want to be part of a more established team in NY but, something tells me wins aren’t the most important thing to him. I guess we’ll see.
