It's good that the Celtics are resting Ray.
He’s been the iron man of this team, he deserves tonight off. I can’t wait for the onslaught of comments regarding his health.
Explains why Pierce is playing.
Maybe Doc will realize Ray’s no spring chicken.
Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Come on.
Where are all the trade speculations? He suddenly gets back spasms when all these trade rumors are flying. Where are all the conspericy theorists? ;-)
One of them is right here!
I don’t buy back spasms for a minute. I really hope I’m wrong though.
Back Spasms, eh?
Ray for Hedo and Jarret Jack? Saves Toronto a bundle of Money.
Would like it
But there will be no intra-division trades

Lets see he does not miss a game all season...
until days before the trade deadline,
we never saw Ray get hurt,
and they report it is a back spasm which is a nice concealed injury to have.
Are they protecting Ray pending a trade????
Is something cooking????
If they're protecting him before a trade
—there must not be a buyout and return planned.
yeah he is at the hotel

He is gone.
If he made the trip, Why can’t he sit with the team while they are playing. There must be a trade in the works.
Same reason KG doesn't sit with the team when he's hurt.

KG doesn't sit with the team because he's too intense, lol
Doc has said quite a few times that KG is almost guaranteed to get a Tech from the bench…
Ray, on the other hand, usually sits on the bench in street when he’s injured – so does Paul. I was surprised he wasn’t there tonight.
Don't Trade Rondo or Perk!
I don't like it at all.
Really sounds like a trade is brewing… we never heard about Ray having back problems or something for the past few months, he hasn’t missed a game and suddenly, out off a 3 day rest, he goes through shootaround to then have back spasms and not play tonight? Very suspicious.
What is your take on this story, Jimmy T?
People have every reason to be suspicious because of the timing
But Ainge has yet to confirm a single rumor, or negotiation, with any team to date. He did say he would consider making a “minor” move, which would mean Ray isn’t going anywhere. Personally I think it really just is a matter of Doc wanting to give Allen a longer break (deservingly so based on his minutes this season). Doc has said numerous times that he knows he is playing Ray too much and needs to do something about that. By sitting tonight, Ray gets 9 days off between games, which could be just what he needs.
Then again, there is that possibility that a Ray trade discussion is heating up, but nobody can confirm that…

Check out this roster
Perkins
Garnett
Pierce
Rondo
Wallace
Daniels
House
Davis
At the beggining of the season I would have thought that this would be our regular rotation. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but this team has only played together once. Chemistry problems anyone?

Rest
Since the All Star break is here I am going with the rest theory. It gives him a week off to relax.
meh...
who hasn’t called in sick before a long weekend?
ray allen hasn’t, not his style
hedo is out too, hmm
