ruiner

this will ruin their chemistry and send them into a tailspin from which they shall not recover – ha ha ha -

Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk

This is sarcasm, I hope

If they get him, they’ll be able to set up a nasty pick and roll, and they’ll be much improved on D.

How will it ruin their chemistry?
If they get Amar’e, that is the title wrapped up for the year!

by specwarop on Feb 12, 2010 10:12 PM EST reply actions

Cuz Amar'e is not a stretch 4... I would've been more concerned if it was Jamison

The Shaq/Amar’e combo didn’t exactly go so well in Phoenix, it’ll be interesting to watch in Cleveland

Don't Trade Rondo or Perk!

I would love for them to give up Hickson and acquire Jamison

They would be stuck with that contract for the next three seasons.

by Little D on Feb 12, 2010 10:27 PM EST up reply actions

Because Amare went down with the eye injury

They were doing all right there, it took shaq 3o games to get in shape as always, and the Amare went down at the allstar break

Thing is

Varejao’s already coming off the bench.

by Tai on Feb 12, 2010 11:05 PM EST up reply actions

People seem to have temporary amnesia. A frontcourt of Shaq and Amar'e was already tried

and failed.

But then again, it was this same time last year when everyone was ready to engrave the Cavaliers’ logo on the championship trophy… like the 1st round of Shaq and Amar’e, that ended really well.

Amnesia?

Seems you might`ve forgotten that the Cavs have some guy named LeBron James on their roster as well!

by Title 18 on Feb 13, 2010 12:38 AM EST up reply actions

And they had him last year when they failed to reach the finals.

Everyone is so ready to hand over a trophy to Cleveland – let them actually win it first…

If they win it all

they should give Steve Kerr a ring too.

Amare is a horrible defender

and last year proved he could not play with Shaq without allowing teams to shred them on pick and rolls like we did. He gives the Cavs nothing they are distinctly missing – and he is not the player he was at the beginning of last season. Jamison or Murphy are much scarier propositions …

I’m not saying Amare will ruin them (duh) … but this team became the favorites when they got a guy who could defend Dwight Howard competently (Shaq). Amare is a lateral move. Pau Gasol > Amare Stoudemire.

I admire the Patriots, but I LOVE the Sox.

Agree 100%

Amare is a horrible defender and doesn’t give anything they don’t already have.

by droopdog7 on Feb 13, 2010 1:26 AM EST up reply actions

You gotta be kiddin

Cleveleand already looks like the best team in the league. You add Amare to that mix and, oh my!

by C'sFanDan on Feb 12, 2010 10:37 PM EST reply actions

Well, they don't have him yet.

I’m not going to worry about it until they do. Probably won’t even worry about it then. I’m more concerned with what the C’s are going to do. Was looking forward to a little break from games and being depressed, so will wait to see how this all plays out and enjoy all-star weekend and the Olympics.

cleveland's better off not making any moves

…the way they’re playing. lakers couldn’t even beat them.

by post-it note on Feb 12, 2010 10:54 PM EST reply actions

True

13 game win streak, 2 wins each vs lakers and Magic, and they think they need a one-dimensional PF?

by nba is the worst on Feb 13, 2010 7:35 AM EST up reply actions

cavs would only get stronger ..

if they get amarie it is all over not even orlando would beat them . as it looks now dannt is not planning on winning the title why would he shop ray ray he should start with sheed and sheldon first..

by lohaus#54 on Feb 12, 2010 11:19 PM EST reply actions

Depends on What the Cavs have to Give Up

When you swim in the creek
And an eel bites your cheek
That’s Amare

by Brickowski on Feb 12, 2010 11:43 PM EST reply actions

Hmm

The Cavs will have to give up some rotation players. More likely Hickson, Big Z and Varejao to match salaries. If that is the case, then Cleveland is making the team worst with this trade.

Whatever players Cleveland trades, if the Mavericks want Hickson then Cleveland will have to trade 3 players away to match salaries. Hope it goes through to shatter their chemistry.

by Ragetti on Feb 13, 2010 7:23 AM EST reply actions

Either way they still aren't beating the Lakers or a healthy Denver with or without Amare

If we can’t get good enough to beat those teams via a trade I would rather let everyone expire. It would take a trade similar to the one bandied about yesterday.

Cleveland already the best team by far in the East

If they get Amare they can start printing tickets for the NBA finals. But, Danny still thinks the Celtics can win it all with what they have.

by vinnie on Feb 13, 2010 9:34 AM EST reply actions

i honestly think after talking to some cavs fans they will go after jamison.

makes more sense for them…he could be had for less…allows them to keep hickson. he also provides a stretch forward they need. if the get either guys…they will be very hard to stop

by celticinorlando on Feb 13, 2010 9:40 AM EST reply actions

if Cleveland gets Amare, they are better

Someone mentioned that Hickson is a product of LeBron, never a truer word said. he is a fine player but nothing compared To Amare. There is enough season left to integrate him and they will win the East with perhaps a touch of challenge from an improving Orlando. The question becomes who they have to relinquish but given the Suns desire to move him regardless, it is going to be a pretty sig. coup for the Cavs. Looking forward to the finals.

would the Suns do Ray for Amare?
