Ray Allen: "Regardless of where I am, my job never changes," he told CSNNE.com on Monday night. "One thing I learned when I first got to the league, there are so many things that you're not going to be able to control, so don't worry about them. That's how I lived my life."

Stay strong Ray, everyone in Boston loves you.

tears in eyes. i wish ray could stay in green forever
i am still thinking some smaller move (sending house/scal/giddens/etc somewhere) would probably be nuf… we just need to rest well and keep everything healthy and thats gonna do it all

As much as I support trading Ray...
I can’t help but really like the guy. Class act, as you say.
USG
I would only trade Ray if we could re-sign him after he gets bought out.
He truly is a role model and a great guy, I want to see him retire as a Celtic!
Dont get all misty eyed!
The Celtic brass are making every intention to try and trade him even after they said they were’nt. I hope they dont. But the Cavs on the other hand…are seriously trying to trade themselves out of championship contention. Literally!!

Ray Allen...by the numbers
$18,390,000——-His salary this season {He`s earned over $160M in his career, so stop crying!}
35———His age this coming summer
45%——His FG% this year { vs. 48% last year}
34%——His 3-pt.% this year { vs. 41% last year}
89%——His FT% this year { vs. 95% last year}
you do realize that last year (at age 34) those were career highs?
His career FG% is 44.8%, his career 3PT% is 39.6% and his career FT% is 89.3%
He’s down on his 3PT% (though trending upward lately) – but hardly sucking since he’s just at NBA average.
Overall, with regard to his overall FG% and FT% percentage, he’s having just an ‘average’ Ray Allen year. I guess that isn’t good enough anymore.
We should indeed trade him if it makes sense. But we shouldn’t have any illusions about what we are giving up. He will be very hard to replace in this particular team.
Thanks mmmmm
for clarifying the stats. However, I still believe trading Ray is a mistake. Considering how the Cs 3 point defense has been suspect recently, who would guard Ray? I could see him lighting up the Cs if playing for an opposing squad.
Then the flood of why did we trade Ray posts would start.
