Doesn't sound like Raja Bell is going to get bough out
Bell intends to stay with Warriors
By Marc Stein
It sounds as though contending teams that expected to have a shot at signing defensive ace Raja Bell for the stretch run are going to be disappointed.
Reason being: Bell is not seeking a buyout from the Golden State Warriors.
The 33-year-old had wrist surgery in early December but is on course to make his comeback next month. After the trading deadline passed without the Warriors plugging his $5.3 million expiring contract into a deal, Bell would have been a natural free-agent target for playoff teams, such as Denver and San Antonio, seeking an extra wing defender to throw at Kobe Bryant.
Bell, though, told ESPN.com that he is not pursuing a buyout, which would have to be completed before March 1 for Bell to be eligible for the playoffs with a new team.
"I’m fully prepared to play here," Bell said Friday.
Hearing that will undoubtedly please the Warriors, who want Bell to finish the season with them and still hold out hope that they can convince him to re-sign in Golden State this summer, since this is a young team clearly in need of example-setting vets who know how to win.
Can’t say I’d give the Warriors great odds of pulling off a re-signing -- since it’s hard to picture the ultra-competitive Bell being able to stomach a non-playoff situation for long -- but Bell did return to Oakland this week to start preparing for his return to the floor after spending the past two months after surgery at home in Miami.
Unfortunately it doesn't sound like Bell is going to get bought out but we still can hope
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

GET BELL
Bell will be a big help defending!!! and he can give us outside shooting!!! GET BELL
haha obviously not… do comments like that constitute as spam haha
it’s actually pretty refreshing to see a player actually play for the bad team he is traded to. But you are right, he would definitely be a great addition to any playoff team. The guy is a tough and plays with intensity
In Kobe we trust!
Ironic
The reason I like Bell so much, his professionalism, is also the reason we will not have a shot at him.
yup a career locker room guy
seems to be a player’s player, coach’s player and a mgmt/brass’ player. would love his defense tho

i wouldnt mind waiting to see what happens with larry hughes in sac for the gaurd help. big man help i could see tony battie makin a return to boston, vet big doesnt require alot of min…
So while Bell may not be available, who do you think will be bought out/released?
Knowing there will not be very many minutes to go around, but that we also have 2 opn spots, 3 if we release Landry, and need for more wing depth and rebounding big man depth. Who would you be interested in looking at as a free agent singing?
Hughes, gooden, bell, zydrunas seem like most obvious candidates, but no interest in Hughes, a little bit in gooden, bell would be perfect, z going back to cavs, battie could be worth looking at…
Who do you think?
What I would like to see
I would like to see a time machine. Go back to a couple weeks ago. Sign Lester Hudson.
But I have a question…
Why is Shelden Williams on our roster?
We need another BIG man that can rebound against and guard taller post players. I actually think Gooden would be an excellent pickup if he becomes available. Don’t get me wrong, I love Big Baby, but he is not very lengthy. The Celtics currently rank 30th (out of 30 teams) in offensive rebounding. While Detroit is getting 13 offensive rebounds a game, the Celtics aren’t even getting 9. That is four extra possessions a game. Overall, we need a big who can rebound and play some good post defense (I would love to see Drew Gooden come our way).
