Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

Why does everyone insist on trading Eddie and what happened to Ty Lue

Besides the fact that the guy is my favorite Celtic, hands down    the guy is really essential to what this team is trying to do. If you watched games last year   teams really played him hard  to prevent the three threat that he presents.  I'm tired of seeing people  on HIS case    hes a shooter,  every team needs a shooter  he goes out and does his job and anything extra is a plus, but not expected.     Rasheed on the other hand, is a big guy who can shoot....he is expected as the 6th man to defend,  go down on the post,  get rebounds  and play his arse off.... has HE done that? No

How about  "uno uno"  or the "eleventh hour" or whatever that crap is.  The guy is undersized at his position, a ok inside shooter w/ traffic,  an average outside shot,  a minus rebounder and shot blocker. But everyone wants to keep him aroudnd because  they all remember him making one shot in the playoffs last year.

Or how about Tony Allen,  we can all agree his value now is at its highest its been all season.  We all know this guys deal, he's a turnover machine on offense    but can defend really well.    But he's untradeable to you all because of what hes done the last 3 games.  You wont trade a guy whos brought in just to defend   but have no qualms about trading away a very good shooter   and energy source off the bench.   Why not trade TA  if you all insist on making a trade   we all know his value isnt going to go much higher than what its at, and reality will set in on what he really is sooner or later and we will be SOL and stuck with the guy.

Also what happened to Ty Lue...thought the hype on signing the guy as a front office guy was he was going to practice with the team and play when we needed him....think we might need him yet?

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I agree with you with regards to Eddie. He’s a game changer and very clutch and he makes very little. He could stay on Boston as ’ shooter ’ off the bench for the rest of his career and I be more than happy. He also helps with backup PG min although he struggles from time to time. Any team would be lucky to have him. He also never complains and is a great locker room guy.

With regards to some of your other comments. I see the same nonsensical comments about BBD being worse than Sheldon so don’t get too bent out of shape. Heck you even see comments about Paul not playing well and needing to be traded. It’s pretty much a fact of life when dealing with the ‘internets’.

Glen Davis

now i do agree about him not being a shot-blocking presence, but i disagree with the rebounding. I think Davis is a great rebounder and gives it his all on the glass. Yes he is definitely undersized but the guy just has a way to get to the ball. Its all about positioning on the boards and he knows how to get a body on a body and box out.

Hmmmm

You must have been watching different games then I did. I think Fats is the worst rebounder I’ve ever seen. He does get a few but mostly because some of the other C’s were being double-teamed and he was left alone.

I have always wished they would not count ‘free’ rebounds in the stats. By this I mean, opposing team is shooting a foul shot, misses the attempt, and the only player back there from the defending team gets the ‘free’ rebound. (I remember one of the greatest rebounders of all time, Larry Bird, who never got free ones. He was always back in defensive position. (might have had somethiing to do with saving energy and not having the greatest run speed also – grin. And of course seldom having to play fourth quarters didn’t help his stats either).

you must have been watching different games then i did. I think big baby is the best rebounder not including KG and Perk. The dude hustles like Leon Powe. If u actually watch games then youd know that. In yesturdays game, big baby got two offensive rebounds IN TRAFFIC in the 4th quarter which helped them eventually score, and move on to win the game. it was a big possesion. Open your eyes.

All I can say to back my comments is look at the rebounding statistics when BBD was out and Sheldon has significant minutes compared to what he is getting now….the guy was getting offensive rebounds like its his job…well it is his job but he was doing a damn good job at it. I think for what we are in need of, given that Rasheed refuses to rebound, so our need would be a PF or C that can rebound off the bench, I think Sheldon fits that mold more than BBD would
