Pierce Questionable

Pierce 'questionable' - Celtics Blog - Boston.com

Celtics' captain Paul Pierce practiced briefly Monday and is "questionable" for the Celtics' visit to New Orleans Wednesday. "Paul didn't do a lot, we actually pulled him out early," Rivers said of Pierce. "He wasn't moving around very well. He's questionable, I think he's going to play but right now we'll wait and see. We have a forced day off because we have to get to New Orleans before the parade."

Please don't play, Paul.

Just sit. Rest. Let Tony and ’Quis handle New Orleans.

And please, for the love of all that is Holy: DO NOT PLAY IN THE FRACKIN’ ALL STAR GAME!!!

We need you healthy after the break.

sit him

Maybe then they’ll come to play since they will be short handed…or not. Who knows with this team right now.

Yeah

It’s called “the coaching staff”. Looks to me that he either has a license to shoot ‘em or they are unwilling to take any action (like pulling him from the game). For what it’s worth, I think he has the green light.

Um... This is why we need to make some trades

We need younger, more durable players. Although Pierce ought to retire as a Celtic. He has given so much to this team over the years.

If Caron Butler squished Kevin Durant's foot...

…same result. Age did not cause this injury, nor do I believe it is a major factor in the rehab time. He’s only missed a couple games.

Doc does not have the———to tell his veterans what they can do or not, nor what they must do. Has he even complained about the poor fould shooting by Perks and Rondo? Has he said anything about it, except MAYBE: “I hope they start making them soon.” Po, probably Sheed has prohibited him from even looking his way."
Doc is reminding me lately of the O’brian experiment: Having or allowing tour big guys running all over the perimeter trying to trap the SG or the PG, only to have the big guys rotate to the basket for easy layups. Remember O’brie?. Nothing got me madder than seeing or small guards trying to guard their big F’ds and/orCenters on their way to an easy basket cause our Bigs were out of position way out there. Well, if you watch it close enough you will se it again. Thats why we are getting beat so often with easy dunks. And dont tell me we have one of the best defenses in the league… We HAD one. Not any longer The proof is in the pudding

This is Monday quarterbacking but Im not alone in thinking that Rasheed has not been the kind of player we expected. No way of knowing it in advance so I wont blame the top brass for the experiment. Its unfortunate the way things have turned out to be; but what you see of Rasheed now is what you are going to see every night, for better or worse. He is rather slow and looks to be out of shape, though I cannot tell for sure. He should be a better post player with his height and mass volume( you know what I mean) but it looks like he is not comfortable down there. Maybe he is so out 0of shape that ,aybe he thinks staying in the perimeter will allow him to get back on defense a little faster. That makes sense to me but I dont know. Maybe IF and when the whole team gets back playing, this season, I hope, we can use him for less minutes so he can cover more ground faster than he is doing now.
Looks to me that PJ. scoring a lot less points and playing a lot less minutes, gave us a better return for our money than Rasheed. I can be wrong, of course, but thats my take.

Ohh commonnnn again!!!

Let Paul rest for the next of the season put Walker to play so he can be ready for playoff. Anyway we are lossing!!!!

by celt4ever on Feb 8, 2010 6:45 PM EST reply actions

Pierce needs to rest and heal period .

That means no Allstar game either.

Paul go home, put up your feet and chill out, we need you at full strength for the 2nd 1/2 of the season ok!

What Are You Talking About?

Just because he can’t walk or jump doesn’t mean he can’t play 40+ minutes. It’s the Rivers way.

i feel like its quite the opposite. doc is overly protective of his players health…. to the point where i think its created a very soft mentality for all parties involved.

by MS12 on Feb 9, 2010 2:06 AM EST up reply actions

give him that rest

Give Pierce his time – he had an impressive start in this season and after K.G. went down, he began to go down too. Now if both guys recover well and TA continues to playing well, we still can beat them all!

I asked god and he said: L.A. will lose again next year!! ^_°

If you think he's bad now

Just wait until you see Sheed next year and the year after that. It will be enough to make you yearn for McCarty, Sundov or Scal.
