Mr. Walker Goes To Boston (and so do the rest of the Knicks. They're going to play a game tonight.)
New York Knicks at Boston Celtics, Mar 17, 2010 7:30 PM EDT
New York Knickerbockers (24-43, 10-22 on road) @ Boston Celtics (42-24, 20-12 at home)
Time: Wednesday, March 17th, 7:30 PM EST
Venue: Da' Garden
TV: CSN-NE, MSG Radio: WEEI
The Line: Knicks have dropped 3 straight vs the Celtics. Last home game for the C's before a weeklong road trip.
Playoff Countdowninator Reads: 16 Games Left.
Well usually I'd say that this Knicks team would be a layup this late in the season for a Boston Celtics team that is getting ready for a long playoff push. But lately we miss layups as much as we hit them.
This Knicks team has cycled more guys in and out of its rotation than almost any other team in the league this season. Injuries, trades, D'Antoni-ism, there are many causes, but basically your guess of who will be starting for the Knacks is as good as mine.
They have been playing well though of late. They're 4-5 in the month of March and have impressive wins over Detroit, Atlanta, and Philadelphia. Probably the best moment for NY though was a decisive 30pt win over Dallas on the 13th, from which they are only 1 game removed. Since then they've beat Philly, so for a team that was expected to lose, this is probably the highest moral point they've had all season.
Then, there is the elephant in the room. Will it be awkward with Bill Walker? Do you think sometimes, when he disregards all society's rules and dunks on someone's dignity,...do you think he still thinks of us? No, no, you're right. It's silly to speculate....
Probable Starting Lineups:
Boston Celtics
|
Injuries and Stuff: Marcus Landry (D-LEAGUE)
New York Knick-Knacks
|
Injuries and Stuff: Eddy Curry (QUESTIONABLE), JR Giddens (OUT), Wilson Chandler (OUT), Eddie Mansion (OUT)
Matchup of the Night: Danilo Gallinari V Kevin Garnett
Garnett has been looking mighty spry in the past week or so, but to be honest he'll need it against Gallinari might not be the most expereinced player on the roster but he's a shooter and he can put the ball on the floor some, and more than anything he's 21, so he won't run out of gas. Garnett though should be able to get any post position he wants vs the young Dino, so it could end up being a big night for KG.
3 Keys For the Good Guys:
1) Get in, get out, quit messin about ya ho ya ho ya ho!-I want to see the starters sitting before there are less than 7 mins left in the third. I don't care if this team did beat Dallas, this should by all rights be a blowout, especially with Chandler and House both out.
2) Get the Bench in Early- We need the bench, on one side because the starters should get some rest in early, but on a more relevant side, because the Knicks are young, and mobile from the front court on down. The bench's energy will be critical after the first quarter.
3) Don't Drive Drunk, have fun, and Drink Responsibly!- Well this isn't really for the Celtics, but it's St Paddy's! Go nuts!

did anyone else notice the strange pattern
how the minutes decrease the way you listed our lineup 1-10?? the exception being Nate, though he hasn’t been with us long.
Chandler is out for the knicks as is House...
This should be another blow out…
I don’t see anything that says Chandler is out anywhere…you got links?
Reporter: About a year ago I asked about the Celtics-Lakers thing and you said you'd really only seen it on TV. Now you've been through it, can you talk about playing the Boston Celtics for the NBA championship?
Kobe: It Sucks.

i hope walker drops 40
Of course I hope we win but it’d be really nice for him to stick it to doc since doc stuck him on the bench foreverrrrrr

If
Bill Walker scores over 20 points then Doc should be terminated on the spot. Let a good prospect be traded because Doc was too stubborn to play him.
Doc suffers from the same disease as Byron Scott, don’t play-a-prospectatitis.
