Zombie Sheed Walks The Earth!

Make no mistake.  Rasheed Wallace is dead.  He died a few seasons ago and all that's been left is a corpse.  With that said, every once in a while, the undead Sheed walks the earth, feeds on brains, and actually contributes to the team.

Tonight he was 3 - 3 from 3 point land in the first half for a total of 13 points.  He even grabbed a couple of rebounds and only had 2 fouls.  Doc wanted the bench to step up and they delivered, sparking an early lead headed into the half.

Update: Sheed finished with 17 improbable points.  BRAINS!! He wants BRAINS!!!

looks like Varejo is looking more to hurt {physically} the celtics with elbows and almost stepping on rays face, then to help come back from a deficit
great to see him not on the floor

Brilliant

Brilliant third quarter. Brilliant for the way they withstodd the Cavs unreal run and built the lead again. Brilliant, SHeed — thanks for showing up at a good time. Brilliant — Rondo — you are almost always brilliant. Brilliant KG. They overcame everything tonight, did not panic and won convincingly. I am shocked, but I certainly love it. Now three days hearing about Lebron’s freaking elbow.

Before

the Suns-Spurs get going, I thought I’d congratulate you guys on a good win. Thus, good job.

We did it!

Great game, except for some sloppy play in the fourth quarter. But we won! :) I am in heaven!

Great game Celtics

They really have managed to flip the switch in the playoffs so far. Rondo is in complete control offensively, Ray is reminding us that he is still a great scorer if he is fed the ball properly, KG has stepped up and is dominating Jamison, the ball is moving consistently, we are fighting for rebounds, Pierce is not letting his lesser offensive role affect his effort and defence, Perk is back to playing his role properly, Tony and Davis are fulfilling their roles and even Zombie Sheed was hungry for Cavs brains tonight.

The Celtics have got themselves in a great position. Now the question is, can they drive home their advantage by protecting home court? Now is the time to reward the home fans guys!

Sheed!!

haha Sheed fliped the switch.

very funny Jeff!

the bottom line is

everything else remains the same, if his 3pt shot falls – he’ll help. he’s not playing enough to kill us or carry. but even his dreadful game 1 perf – if he drains a bunch of 3pters would have looked okay. and really to guard shaq and big z – you don’t have to move much. Even ANdy can be guarded with some fundamental boxing out – a skill the c’s have lacked all year.

Yep that was nice to see

Also loved to see the Celtics throwing Varejao’s junk back in his face tonight. For once we got under his skin.

If the C's want to win this series against the Cavs and

any future ones if we go deeper in the playoffs we will need Sheed.

Lets hope this game gets him going the rest of the playoffs !

LEBRON IS UN-LEBRON BECAUSE OF AN ELBOW INJURY..

Other than that, signs point to an upset for Boston.. After taking out the Magic, maybe just maybe an 18th banner is becoming a POSSIBILITY especially if they meet LA for the NBA finals..

doc

call out sheed ever day leading up to rest of sheeds career please

he answered the call tonight but can he do it enough to help us win the series and the championship

we shall see

all is forgiven

he is ok in my book, unless he plays badly for the rest of the playoffs

Sheed was the only player on the team with a negative +/-

mind you, it’s not like I went looking for this, but going through the box score it stood out. There it was “-2” only player on the team in the negative.

then on the cavs, the only player in the positive you wonder? Varejo with a +2.

by MaineBleedsGreen on May 4, 2010 6:36 AM EDT reply actions

It was positive until the Cavs made their run

which overlapped with Sheed still in.

Wallace slammed a dunk to make it 89-66 followed shortly by a Garnett putback to make it 91-66 (at 9:08 of the 4th). At that point, Wallace was +5.

Then, the Cavs made a run. They scored 7 straight to make it 91-73 (at 6:07, 4th). Perkins came in for Wallace. At that point, Wallace suddenly was -2. Perk at this point was +20.

Cleveland continued their run, scoring 8 more points to make it 91-81 (at 4:33, 4th). Wallace came back in for Perkins(+12).

Each team exchanged 2 pts to make it 93-83 (at 2:57). Perkins(+12) came in for Wallace (-2).

Perk remained in the game for the duration as we made our own 11-3 run to close out the game. Perk finished at +20.

So, the +/- sort of got skewed by the run. It also impacted Perk (and everyone else out there during the Cav’s 15-0 run). But then Perk ‘got it back’ by being on the floor during our closing run.

The fact that the cavs scored 7-0 with Wallace followed immediately by 8-0 with Perk suggests that neither were the main factor in the run. It was just them getting hot and other aspects of the Celtics ‘not clicking’ for those few minutes.

Ray Allen was on the floor for the whole -15 run – if not for that, his +10 might have been much bigger.

The vagaries of stats.

And yeah, it is an injustice that SideShow Bob somehow managed to end up +2.

I believe that w/o Sheed's points in the 1st half

the C’s would have been down big time by halftime. The bench sucked in game 1 and contributed next to nothing. We better hope Sheed keeps drinking whatever he did because we’ll need the bench to produce every game to win this series.

by jdn on May 4, 2010 7:51 AM EDT reply actions

zombie sheed indeed. that is the absolute best description ever- worth a long laugh.

by nazzbo on May 4, 2010 8:44 AM EDT reply actions

the bald patch on sheed's head..

is in the perfect shape of the spot where an electrode would be implanted if he were to be zapped out of unconsciousness after slumbering in a warehouse all day to avoid contact with sunlight.. just sayin’…
